“Delicious!!!”

Began with the Calamari and a bottle of Columbia Crest Sonoma La Crema. Both were exceptional! Had the Sea Bass and Mahi Mahi. Could not have been better! Relaxed atmosphere....great food!

“An OBX Favorite That Deserves Its Reputation”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

We've been going to the Outer Banks for more than ten years and every year we return to the Flying Fish, often twice in our annual week. We were eager to try it this year but concerned because George, the original owner, had sold it. We needn't have worried. Bob and Tiffany Sharkey, the new owners, have kept the staff, including the meticulous and creative kitchen team.

The quality we expect hasn't suffered a bit. If anything, the Sharkeys have encouraged the chef to spread his wings wider. The dishes seem even more inventive and consistently successful. My wife always gets the superb crab cakes; they're tops again. Their way with the (always fresh, usually local) fish is consistently excellent. The beef is the finest we've had in some time.

The wine list remains surprisingly broad, deep and tempting for such a small restaurant. All in all, if you're at the beach and love really good food, don't miss the Flying Fish.

It's small and intimate, so reservations are in order during the season.

“Owner/Chef Involved with Clientele”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

The seafood at this restaurant was quite good. Their signature beef entree looked appetizing but we were at OBX for seafood. Cioppino (Italian fish stew) had generous portions of fish. We had the two crabcake dinner (took one home) and shared a spinach salad. Wine list was reasonable. Worth a return visit.

“Fantastic meal with great atmosphere.”

Our meals were superb and service was fantastic. Our favorite restaurant on the Outer Banks since our first visit to the Flying Fish in 1999.. Seafood was prepared right on the mark. Atmosphere can not be beat.

“Excellent service and food”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Be sure to make reservations. It is a small place, but the food was worth going back. I tried the fresh fish special parrott fish and it was quite tasty. Skip the desert, I had the cheesecake and it was mediocre.
