“The food was good... until it came back up!”
Reviewed June 11, 2011

We stopped by for breakfast while in the area during the first week of June. I ordered the short stack, one egg scrambled and bacon. Everything tasted ok, not great, but ok... until about 30 minutes later when it all came right back up. Not sure what it was that made me sick... maybe the eggs? My boyfriend had an omelet and wasn't feeling so great afterwards either... but he's blessed with a cast iron stomach. We definitely would not recommend the place to others!

“Very Nice!”
Reviewed June 8, 2011

There are two "Stack em High" places about 5 or 6 miles apart. One is owned by one brother, the other one owned by the other brother. We visited the newer one. We enjoyed the experience very much. The pancakes were light, fluffy and delicious. The service was excellent with frequent refills of coffee. The blueberries I'm the pancakes were fresh and delicious. The price is right also. We will be going back. In the near future

“Best Breakfast on the Outer Banks”
Reviewed May 27, 2011

At first glance, this looks like a cafeteria and my husband and I almost walked out. The lady behind us told us it's the best breakfast in town so we decided to try it. We ordered our meals and took our coffee to a table and from there on were pampered with great service. Cooked to order corned beef was crispy and eggs over easy were perfect with cheesy grits and an English muffin (which they cooked crisp on the griddle) - everything was so yummy we went back the next day for a repeat! There's a family feeling in the way we were cared for here!

“Great place for pancakes & waffles.”
Reviewed May 3, 2011

Take this place for what it is. It's a cafeteria style, order at a counter and sit restaurant. If this bothers you, then don't go, save that spot for me instead. This place has been a must stop for my family for as long as we have been coming to OBX. Lots of choices of waffles, pancakes, and other breakfast fare for relatively cheap. Bring your patience if you choose to go during the prime times on busy days. It will be busy.

“Nice Staff, mediocre food”
Reviewed April 26, 2011

Food is mediocre at best. Pancakes, which you would think would be outstanding in a "pancake" place weren't any better than what I make at home. The staff is extremely friendly - the only bright spot. If you are looking for a great breakfast, try Miller's...much better.
