“Tuesday Taco Night! Yay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

This was our fourth year in a row going to The Pit for their Tuesday Taco special. We are a family group of 8, so we know to go early as it can get really crowded. This year it was the first Tuesday in September so maybe most people had gone home after Labor Day and we had our pick of a table.

Our waitress was friendly and provided good service. We all ordered tacos with fixin's and drinks. Two taco orders were wrong so our waitress promptly replaced them with the correct items and we were all happily enjoying our tacos in no time!

Dinner for 8, including 2 cocktails and soft drinks was a bargain at about $11 per person. We were out of there in time to make our evening movie, followed by ice cream before retiring to our rental house.

“Cheap drinks and dance nights”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

This place did have very cheap drinks and was a great alternative to the overly priced and rude Outerbanks Brewing Station. The crowd is very surfer, and the music was pretty weird techno stuff. The women dancing on the stage were especially weird because the guys in the crowd literally came up within inches of them and leered. Kind of gross.

“Best tacos in the Outer Banks!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2012

Stayed in the OBX the third week in August of 2012. We went for Taco Tuesday for the $1 bean tacos, $1.50 beef tacos, and $2 chicken tacos and they were Amazing!!!!!! All fresh ingredients and Heaping amounts of topping on the tacos. We ordered nachos for an appetizer and they were a huge pile of awesomeness!!!! We enjoyed the food so much that we came back on Friday evening and enjoyed their taco happy hour from 4-6pm with the same prices mentioned above. Again, the food was amazing and we left stuffed And very content. Cons: seating is rather limited inside (maybe 6 or 7 tables) and a few tables out on the deck. We got there early around 4 or 5 and had no problem but could see others having to wait in the prime dinner time. The menu need updating, advertised 2 sizes of draft beer but only sold pint sized glasses. Also, they advertised coke products and were told they only sell Pepsi. No big deals but should be noted. We definitely found our taco shack for our future visits.
