“Great Stay. Very Impressed.”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

First, I'm hard to please with hotels. I must say that I was very impressed with my stay at Days Inn. Very interesting building with a beautiful lobby-- not your usual Days Inn

The rooms were clean and modern-- nice sized bathrooms with clean modern sink and tub. Nice TVs in the rooms, comfortable beds (looked and felt clean).

I did feel that the staff could be a tad friendlier, however.

I will certainly stay here in the future.

We three old bachelors descended upon the Outer Banks to help the youngest celebrate his 50th birthday. Our room (112) faces the highway (N.C. 12), and it's hard to see the ocean because of the dunes anyway. A short walk from the back of the hotel on a walkway through the dunes puts one on a serene beach (beaches are serene in mid-September--no kids). The lobby and breakfast area are good; breakfast included circular flat eggs and sausage besides the usual continental stuff. I reckon the room can be considered small, yet it contained the three of us (two double beds and a rollaway [$10 extra per night]) and we weren't stumbling over each other. We had a small refrigerator and microwave as well. Beds were comfortable, the shower was hot, and the room was quiet (save one's snoring). The blue decor was attractive, when I bothered (three ol' bachelors, remember) to look, the lobby had a common use desktop computer, and major attractions and restuarants are close by. Recommended.

Room Tip: The beach is less than fifty yards away, so no need to be concerned with a room with a view--just wa...

Hotel lobby and dining area very nice. Complimentary beverages were also nice. We chose 2nd floor facing the ocean. If im not mistaken there are only 4 rooms with ocean view, others see sand dunes or face away from the ocean. It is pretty from the deck area. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, pillows were plentiful and not flat! There were only minor maintenance issues that i would mention that really didnt affect my rating much like the carpet was bunched up in places and not laid down tight, bathroom door didnt close well, ect... but overall enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for you staying at our Days Inn during your trip to the Outer Banks. I'm very happy that you had a great stay with us on the beach. You are correct that there are only 4 rooms that have an oceanview. I'm happy that everything was neat and tidy for your stay and will check on the carpeting in those 4 rooms. If you are able to visit again please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to help make reservations for your next stay--thank you, Tonia

This place is a gem! First of all, the staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are immaculate with comfortable beds and bedding. Our standard king room had a refrigerator and microwave, but I'm sure that there are others with kitchenettes if you need one. Our room was beachfront with a little sitting area and deck chairs provided. The weather was sultry, but the air conditioner worked just great. I love that the ocean is right over the dunes. It's located right across from a great little store that has everything from sandals to groceries. I can't wait to stay here again!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Days Inn. We love that you love our place! I'm extremely happy that you enjoyed yourself and that the staff was friendly during your stay. Everyone does seem to love the shop across the way and they also have a great deli too--I can attest to that. When you're able to visit again please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help reserve your next stay! Thank you--Tonia

The rooms were small but the hotel has a great location. It is very close to the main highway and there is a good variety of things to do and places to eat nearby. The Days Inn staff is friendly and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The ocean is also just steps away (over the dune). The day passes to the local YMCA were also priceless!

We've stayed here a few times over the years. It's clean, comfortable, super close to the beach, the staff is friendly... It's a family favorite! Some of the rooms are larger than average with little kitchenettes and couches, but even without that, they're not any more cramped than at other hotels. We like the proximity to the Wright Brothers National Monument and the Nags Head Pier, and the quiet and privacy of the beach.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back face the beach and have a better view, but they are a little more expensive.

Just returned from a trip to the Outer Banks. Our room was clean, but the beds are not comfortable for us. They were over firm! The room had a small fridge, small microwave and 2 cup coffee maker. Their breakfast buffet was free and very adequate, providing a waffle maker, pre-made egg and sausage patties, bagels, English muffins, sweet rolls, cereal, juice and coffee, etc. The room was kept at a "eat and get out" temperature (lol)...very chilly! Don't waste money on an "ocean view". It is a two floor hotel and all we could see were the dunes and sea oats.
