Food Dudes is small, so go early or go late, but GO! Was full when we arrived but only waited 10 min to get seated. Bar area can be used for food service too. Waitresses look like they are there to stay: warm, friendly and quick to fill your beverages. Portions are more than ample, menu has lots of options from coconut crusted rockfish to crabcake salad to mac and cheese! Great prices on beer ($2-3.50) and taco night from 5 pm on Thursdays. I had fish tacos filled with moist marinated grilled mahi-mahi. Jamaican slaw and a side of jalapeño tarter makes for a happy mouth! Special appetizer of BBQ shrimp wrapped in bacon atop a fresh corn, spinach and tomato salad warmed just enough to meld flavors. This all on too of a a square of fried grits. My companions had a rockfish sandwich and a blackened mahi-mahi, both in heaven. Another companion raved about the chicken pesto sandwich with goat cheese and roasted red peppers. Each dish was about $10.....go now! We will go again - see you there this week! :)

We're down here frequently, and are fairly picky about where we eat. We know our favorites, and are reluctant to risk spending $50+ on a sub-par meal. Food Dudes did not disappoint. It's in a nondescript shopping center at about MP9 on the beach rd., but the interior has a good vibe. Service was friendly, and mahi tacos were fantastic and reasonably priced. Good craft beer selection, but pricey at $6/bottle. It is small inside, as others have posted, but the food was a real treat, and it has the OBX feel that we enjoy. We will be back.

First of all the service was excellent! The food was great. You need to try it! The kids enjoyed it as much as the adults.

Stopped in for lunch with a buddy and then again two days later with some family members because I liked it so much. The blackened fish tacos were excellent. Really a perfect lunch with good service and great food and local beer. There is a lot of local art on display as well. The only caution I would give is that this place is very small...the capacity cannot be much more than 20 or 25 people. So get there early.

Food Dudes is a small restaurant with bar and table seating. Don't blink or you'll miss it. Its very laid back with surf videos playing and local art displayed. Beach casual. Keep in mind.....it's limited seating..... If you are a large party, you may need to wait, but it's worth it.

The menu has multiple choices, but always look at the chalk board. We went on Taco Thursday.......ahi tuna taco, fried avocado taco and mahi taco. Amazing. Try the sauce made by the restaurant. You better be a fan of fire.
