“Return trip”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We had visitors from the mid west & we'd told them about our past visit in November of last year to Korner's Folly & they wanted to see it.
The people have made changes to the visitors check in including a video - all very positive changes in less than a year.
$10 admission is very reasonable. Staff friendly & helpful.
The place is so unique it's hard to describe, another great stop.

“love historical places”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

Guide was informative, personable and kid-friendly, which was a bonus for our family because our seven year old is already a history buff and can't wait to go back.

“Very cool historic house unlike most others”
Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

A very well spent $10. It's rare to be able to self-tour through an historic house of this nature and caliber. Amazing architectural wonders and interesting engineering. On the part of the owner designer. Originally Mr. Korner designed this house as both his bachelor living quarters and showroom for furniture, fireplaces, and other designs for his customers. Later he married and his wife chose to live in the house rather than have him build a new one. He added 7 levels in 3 floors with quirky touches throughout. We were just amazed that it stood abandoned and slated for destruction for so many years. A true treasure would have been lost. Great place to spend an hour or two. Gift shop behind house also shows a short (children geared) film about the history of the family and house.

“A neat oddity!”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

I have seen tons of historic houses, but never one like this. The house was meant to show off the builder's interior design skills. He was definitely not an architect because this is one odd house. It is only 3 stories but I think it is in maybe 7 different levels, some rooms with ceilings so low you can't stand up straight.. There are tiny doorways. Tiny stairways. Tiny ceilings. Tall ceilings. Wide doorways. Nothing is the same. Nothing makes sense. He originally had the horse/carriage way right through the center of the house. It is a shame that the home fell into disrepair prior to being saved. I would love to have seen it in its heyday.

“Fun place for family and friends”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

A great historic place to take your family and friends. A must if you are the Triad area! The history behind the Folly is amazing. They also hold puppet shows for children, they have occasional plays and is always decorated beautifully at Christmas.
