Owner description: Korner's Folly is the architectural wonder and home of artist and designer Jule Korner. Built in 1880 in Kernersville, North Carolina, the house originally displayed his interior design portfolio. While this home is old is it unique and beautiful in it's own way. I think everyone should visit not only to see the architecture but also to learn about the interesting ways of life in the house - everything from how they created air and ventillation to the reasoning behind how close the house is to the street. I took my 90 year old grandfather in here and he really enjoyed it as well. Be advised that some places in the home do have very narrow hallways and steep steps but as long as you go slow you shouldn't have a problem. I would say the entry fee at the time of our visit was a bit higher than expected but it was a nice tour overall.

draws your imagination into the horse and buggy days. unusual use of living spaces and filled with interesting furniture and artwork. Not really of interest to teens though.

This home is a home of amazement! Be sure and go at Christmas when it is decorated to the "hilt." There are many oddities there that you won't want to miss.

This place is absolutely amazing especially if you like history and architecture. The guide says to allow 2 hours but it is wise to allow more. There is so much to see and take in. There is a guide book in order to assist with all the rooms and how the house got the way it did. There is a fee but is well worth it. There are a lot of stairs and knooks and crannies so be sure to bring your walking shoes. Great Treasure not to be missed.

We have visited many historic homes in Charles, Savannah and other cities but this was our first visit to Korner's Folly in our own backyard. We were pleasently surprised just how much we enjoyed it. We went during Christmas and it was great. It is definitely worth a visit especially at Christmas time when each room is decorated for the holiday. Be sure to read Aunt Dealy's story. Her home is now the gift shop. It is a touching story.
