“We Love Don Juans!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

We have been eating at DonJuans for years..It is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Kernersville/Winston Salem area..We always have quick, professional service (especially when our favorite waiter Polo is there) and the food is always great! The staff is very friendly and the place immaculate with a nice atmosphere. It is a very good value and the food is always fresh. We eat there at least three-four times a month.

“Excellant Mexican Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

This review will be of Don Juan's Mexican located at the corner of Main and Century in Kernersville, North Carolina. I went for lunch accompanied by one of my siblings, as I had not experienced lunch here before and was looking forward to it. The diner's initial impression of the restaurant is a pleasant surprise for anyone familiar with the building that houses the restaurant. For years it was a health and fitness center. The transition to a restaurant is amazing, with several separate eating areas provided, lovely decoration, and murals on the walls. The facility itself is quite attractive.

Upon entering, you are promptly greeted by the courteous staff who seats you as quickly as possible. Once at the table, one of the friendly wait staff brings chips and salsa, and is prompt in replenishing them as you greedily gobble them up. The wait staff is very courteous and attentive, and quickly take your order. I ordered the lunch chimichanga with roasted beef tips, guacamole salad, rice and beans. The order arrived at our table rapidly, a great service to working people with a limited amount of time. The food was flavorful and more than an adequate amount was served. The presentation, however, left something to be desired. It may seem a bit petty to some, but I'm a true believer that part of the overall dining experience is how the dish appears. There was sour cream all over the outer edge of the plate, and cheese sauce smeared on the other side of the plate. It only takes a few seconds to wipe this down and make the dish appealing to look at. As far as the food itself, the beef tips were sautéed with onions and had the perfect amount of seasoning and flavor with the cheese sauce. The rice and beans were very pleasing to the palate, as was the guacamole salad. The only drawback here is my suspicion that the guacamole was not house-made, with that slight "plastic" taste one gets from pre-processed foods. Aside from that and the appearance, the meal was a delight.

“Best Mexican food & Value out there.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Going to Don Juan's is always a treat, great food, greqt service and unmatched value. Always have fast service and a nice clean, calm atmosphere. I have been here dozens of times and never once dissapointed. One warning if you plan on a Friday or Saturday night, come early or late or expect a wait. They are no longer a hidden secret, everyone knows what a great place they are.

“Food is good, but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

Ate at Don Juan's last week for the second time, and I've enjoyed my dinners there both time. Food was very well prepared, well seasoned, excellent. And the service has been good. So what's the problem? Don Juan's is extremely busy, and it is the loudest place I've eaten in a long time. We had to strain to hear the people across the table from us, even though they were having to talk loud. After a busy day, I want to go someplace that I can relax, and though I enjoy the food, there are other good Mexican restaurants in the area where the total dining experience is more satisfactory.

“Decent”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Decent Mexican food, good atmosphere. It's a shame that Mi Pueblo beats them in Value and Taste. Don's is more Americanized Mexican food, which Mi's is more authentic.
