Best meal there is the Chicken turnovers, roasted squash, and grit cakes! Their food is really good and fresh. They used to have one of my favorites, which was honey ginger chicken skewers as an appetizer but they took it off the menu. :-/ Haven't really tried much else except the country pork tenderloin-I will not recommend that since it had a funny taste. Other than that, the food is good, servers are nice and it's a cute/trendy place to eat in K'ville :) which is something Kernersville really needed.

I have been here no fewer than 6 times. I keep not falling in love. And yet, i keep returning hopefully.
Sometimes the service is super efficient, friendly, and professional. Sometimes i need to send up a signal flare to have my glass refilled. There always seems to be more staff than absolutely necessary milling about. Which should be a good thing. And yet, they seem way more involved in each other than in being welcoming and gracious to their guests.
When Peppers first opened, i thought ther biggest flaw was...wait for it...the prices weren't high enough. Probably the majority of their business is the hamburger and sweet tea crowd; but if i want a fresh, gourmet meal of local origins, i expect to pay for it, and welcomed Peppers as an option to provide that. I had visions of the place degenerating into *just* a burger joint, and i'm afraid that is what has happened. Slightly higher burger prices would have probably maintained the higher-end entre business.
I recently visited and ordered a salad from their special "locavore" menu (that's not really the name of it, but i dearly love this notion of eating foods that we actually know from whence it came). The salad was advertised as fresh local tomatoes, in a "blt" salad. The tomatoes AND the bacon were ice cold. (Everyone knows that good garden tomatoes can't be refrigerated.) The croutons were cold and soggy. Eeewwwww. Refrigerator salads. So lazy, and so....i don't know....nursing home?
And yet, i keep returning because i desperately want this place to be the locally owned "VT" of Kernersville. I really hope they decide who they want to be and just do it. Seems like trying to be all things isn't quite working.

There aren't many options in Kernersville and this is a welcome addition. The atmosphere is new and modern. We found the staff to be mixed, some very good, others mediocre. The owner is often there and is super nice!

We like the food very much. They have a wonderful burger topped with an egg that is divine! You can get it rare or med/rare since they grind their own meat. The pizzas, fish, sandwiches, other entrees all good.

The drinks are another story. The bartenders can't seem to make a decent mixed drink. The Cosmo was cranberry and a ton of lime with no vodka. French martini similar problem. Wine list is not great and TINY pours. If they could get the bar to be better, we would go more often.

Reading the previous recent reviews sounds like our negative experiences are becoming all too common. We've tried this place 3 times, the first was quite soon after they opened and it was delicious! Unfortunately, subsequent visits have been marred by unfriendly and inattentive host and wait staff, undercooked salmon, indifferent and unapologetic management, empty glasses, and even a hair in the food. We are so disappointed by how this place is turning out, and won't be back.

Pleasant atmosphere, Eco friendly decor , and overall good food. I had grit cakes, baconator burger, and fruit. Thie bar area is nice, with ample seating, and great noise levels.
