“OK just needed to be cleaner.”

We had a room facing the railroad tracks. Room was small but big enough for us and the bed was comfortable. No TV, no refrigerator, no hair dryers, but we knew that when we booked it. The big problem was that it just wasn't clean. The ahower was disgusting. On a different note. .we ate dinner at the restaurant and it was great except they were out of trout which is what I wanted but still good.

This inn does have a lot of character and our room was very nice, small but nice. Bring ear plugs unless nothing wakes you from your sleep. Yes the train was very loud at 4am (you are a street's width away from the track) but not only that the air conditioning was very noisy, walls thin and the key drop box was right outside our room - yes that is noisy too if someone leaves early. Liked the place - just didn't like the lack of sleep. Not sure whether any other rooms are better - we were in 201.

We spent a single night at the Iron Horse Station, wish it had been longer. We took a room with a jacuzzi tub and a skylight. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and great old wood floors it was a great get away from our busy life, no phone or TV to disturb us. We were able to talk and take our time over hot tubs. The restaurant was surprisingly good for a small town hotel. We ate lunch and dinner there, they had a number of local craft beers. I can't wait to return which we will.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel have windows but also are closer to the rail line. All rooms are...

Great lunch with a smashing chicken and bean soup, and an even better supper with Blackened Trout. Friendly staff and comfortable setting. Nice place to eat with a craft store one stop away. And parking right out the front door next to the train tracks.

The Iron Horse Inn is in the beautiful small town of Hot Springs, NC. The original building was built in 1865 with an additional building added in 1880. The spaces have been brought up to modern standards, but still have the quaint touches of the past. The innkeeper Beverly is a gem that you will find helpful, friendly and full of information, and she might even have a little bit of gossip about the town. Ray the general manager is a friendly sort and though not originally from NC or the south has all the kindness needed. I think the staff and community will whip him in NC Mountain shape soon.

The rooms are VERY comfortable with adequate space. The Pullman Jacuzzi rooms are worth the extra fee. ENJOY! The beds are VERY comfy.

The Iron Horse Station Restaurant is down stairs and serves lunch and dinner. The NC Beer selection is pretty good and the staff does a good job.

Don't miss The Iron Horse and DO NOT miss Hot Springs.

Room Tip: The wifi is ok, but you'll find a better should you choose to work from a desk in the hallway, y...

this would be my choice in hot springs again. the staff are awesome in the restuarant right below. the food was even better. any thing you order i have a feeling would be good. the hotel is charming, it is what it is, enjoy it, the only thing is that the train went by at 1:30 am and 4:30, maybe a room to the back of the hotel. but it is an old train station, lol. the room was really clean, we walked to the hot spring, and around town. very relaxing!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Iron Horse Inn, located in Hot Springs, NC. We had a wonderful time - both at the hotel, and the town! Our room was designed like a Pullman sleeper car circa 1800's, so we felt like we were experiencing a piece of American history. Baj, the innkeeper, (Yes, that really is his name!) is a great manager - very hospitable and accommodating. The food at the restaurant in the hotel is excellent - I had a salad with tofu - the salad was huge, and the tofu on it was delicious! Besides the ambiance of the historical hotel, the location is perfect - you can walk right out the front door and down the street to shops and eating places, and the Hot Springs Resort, with the relaxing jacuzzi tubs, is also within walking distance. I would definitely recommend the Iron Horse to anyone planning a trip to this part of North Carolina - you'll return home with fond memories!

Room Tip: We stayed in a regular Pullman Sleeper room.It was fine for us, although small. I would recommend sp...
