Unbelievable is the only word to describe my experience at The Homestead restaurant! We arrived at the restaurant at 1:00. Our group of 10 was seated quickly and received our beverages in a timely manner. it was downhill from then. We flagged down the server several times asking her to take our orders. She said something about they were changing chefs. So we waited and waited. After about 20 minutes our order was taken. Several of the items people wanted were no longer available. Once again we waited and waited. Once again we had to flag down the server. The place was not crowded either. Finally 75 minutes after we arrived we received our food. I had the wrap special which was salmon. Somehow a piece of sausage entered into it. The scalloped sweet potatoes was excellent! We were not compensated in any manner for the poor management nor even received a "sorry". A complimentary dessert or beverage may have changed our opinion. To top it off an automatic 20% gratuity was added to our bill. For what? Poor service and a condescending server? Two words: NEVER AGAIN! Sad because service doesn't cost anything!
