Nice break from big chain restaurants. Authentic Mexican food. Nice variety. Something for everyone. Nice polite staff. Would not hesitate to recommend.

“Average Food in an Old House”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

Ate there 3/16. Restaurant sits back from road in old historic building a few miles from the freeway. Parking is a bit tight if restaurant is full. From restaurant to entry you will wind your way through the house to get to your table.

Service is prompt and attentive. Salas and chip arrive almost immediately. All servers are available to monitor your satisfaction. The menu is large and varied. Prices are reasonable.

We found the food to be average for most Mexican restaurants. While the experience was not bad, we likely will not seek this restaurant out again in the future.

“Good Mexican food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

This place is a bit odd in that the building is, literally, an old house. But, the food is good. The salsa is satisfying and they give you plenty of salsa and chips. They also serve an odd white sauce with the chips, but we don't care for it and usually send it back to the kitchen so it's not wasted.

The service is good, but at the end of the meal, depending on the waiter you have, they will either take your credit card/cash at the table and bring you the receipt, or, they will give you a "ticket" that you will need to take to the cash register at the front door in order to pay on your way out. You never know what to expect, so if they don't come back in five minutes or so, you have to assume you need to pay at the front door as you leave. I've asked about this and was told that some waiters pick up the check and some don't. On another occasion I was told that "you always pay at the door as you leave". I didn't argue because it's trivial, yet it would be nice if they had a consistent policy of taking your payment at the table like most "sit down" restaurants.

“Unique place, authentic Mexican”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

We enjoyed an early dinner here on a cold day. The food was very good and our booth was cozy and toasty warm. A Mexican restaurant inside of an old house is quite unique but we liked it! Service was good, the chips and salsa were excellent and the menu has any Mexican dish/combination you could ever want. We found the food to be a bit more authentic than most Mexican restaurants (i.e. the cheese on my tacos was queso fresco) The Choco Chimichanga for dessert was delicious and fun!

“Great spot for a quick lunch or dinner.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

We stopped off this exit with the intentions of grabbing a few tacos from Taco Bell. However, my boyfriend spotted this old home that had been converted into a Mexican restaurant. We were more than pleasantly surprised. Great food for a great price and fast service. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
