“Excellent food and service”

Excellent food and service. The waiter respected we were in no hurry and had an excellent meal. The pasta is reasonably priced and the filet perfectly cooked.

“Not Worth the Trip”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2014

We had heard a lot about this place and finally decided to drive 40 miles down from Danville, VA, for Sunday brunch.

We should have stayed home.

The food came to the table less than lukewarm. And what's worse, it was pretty much tasteless.

We're vegetarians and ordered the veggie egg white omelet, crepes with fruit, and french toast. The veggie omelet was tasteless with very very little cheese. It came with a side salad with balsamic vinegar dressing that was also tasteless. The crepes and the french toast all tasted like they were pre-fabed.

If they were made up fresh, I don't know what happened to them between the kitchen and our table.

No one ever came over to ask us how the meal was. If they had, they would have heard about it.

On the plus side, the coffee was great. As was the decor.

But neither of those will have us coming back.

It just wasn't worth the money or the time.

PS--there's no kids menu!

“Great Brunch, Great Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2014

We eat at Antonia's fairly often. The food is very good. In particular, the brunch is outstanding. I love their extra hot homemade sausage. And, they really know how to make a Bloody Mary - the right way, with lots of horseradish and a big old stalk of celery. The rest of the menu is lovely as well. I'm particularly fond of the fish of the day that comes with your choice of two sauces. The Italian dishes are greatly; I often eat the shrimp and pasta, which is lightly dressed with oil, garlic and a touch of red pepper.

“Fabulous Every Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

This is simply my favorite restaurant! The service is great, the atmosphere is comfortable and lively, and the food is to die for! The menu is on the pricy side, but despite I go quite often. In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Hillsborough. Both the brunch and dinner are very tasty. I would recommend this to anyone, for a romantic date to a family celebration!

“Excellent food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

I stayed in Hillsborough for 4 days and ate 3 meals at Antonia's. The vegetable and salads were fresh and minimally prepared. The home made pasta was excellent. Nice wine selection. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, except for Friday night, during graduation weekend, when it became a bit crowded. The wait staff was friendly and informative. I highly recommend this restaurant, as a place for good wholesome food, reasonably priced, and quiet atmosphere.
