“My favorite in Highlands”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

Of all the outstanding restaurants in Highlands, we most often choose Wolfgang's because of their excellent menu choices and always the friendliest but professional wait staff. The Wine Bistro is like a comfy and relaxing Club room, with great tapas and small plates as well as a good selection of large plates. In the main restaurant, the back room in the old original building is cozy and romantic, while the main dining area is more energetic. All three areas have a fireplace. There is a wide enough selection of menu choices to satisfy anyone, and the German specialties are always wonderful. Their shrimp and lobster bisque and the Onion soup are rich and decadent; the wedge salad is always cold and perfectly topped with their own blue cheese dressing and bacon crumbles; and the braised short ribs are the ultimate comfort food. They always have excellent seafood dishes and their steaks and lamb chops are the best. To go with it all is an extensive wine list that covers every type and region imaginable, at enough different price points to make anyone happy, with a sommelier who offers great suggestions. There is a full bar as well. What's not to love?

“Destination Restaurant when in Highlands!”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

My girlfriends and I chose Wolfgang's for the 5th straight year during our annual "Three Divas and a Drama Queen" trip to Highlands and once again, we were not disappointed! Everything from the greeting at the hostess stand, to the drinks outside on the beautiful Main St in Highlands before our reservation, to the very attentive and knowledgable sommelier Annalize, to Wolfgang himself who always stops by for a visit at our table, to the actual food and service is amazing! Among the 4 of us we had the goat cheese and spinach stuffed portobello mushroom with applewood smoked bacon which was huge and so yummy, the always perfect lobster and shrimp bisque, onion soup, wedge salads with the best homemade blue cheese dressing, the snapper special, the braised short ribs, and a goulash dish over pasta special that were all magnificent! The wine list is quite impressive and the desserts are worth going an extra mile on the treadmill for! We love the experience, food, service and attention we get every time we go and we will keep going back for more every year!

“Bistro excellent for family ”
Reviewed October 18, 2013 via mobile

I stopped in for a glass of wine after shopping. Wine list was excellent. Husband and kids joined me in the Bistro for a 5:30 dinner. Very relaxing. Kids chicken and kids shrimp dinners were huge portions. Flatbread was awesome. Banana's Foster was OK.
