“Wonderful Highlands Staple”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

I have been traveling to Highlands for over 20 years and am familiar with all of the restaurants in the Highlands/Cashiers area. Wolfgang's has been a long-time staple in the area that has only grown better with time. From sit down meals with family and friends to formal dinner parties to low-key tapas in the wine garden area, Wolfgang's offers it all. The bar area is the perfect place to grab a bite if you are not in the mood for a large meal and wish for lighter fare. Consistent quality and friendly, personable service make it one of my favorite places to dine in town.

“BEST CRAB LOUIS SINCE COMMANDERS PALACE 15 YEARS AGO”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

This is only my forth review so when i do review i want to only say the very best.this is one of the best restaurant in my home town of Highlands NC.
Tonight I had the crab louis appetizer followed by weiner schitzel main course. Both were top shelf. The Crab Louis is comparable to Commanders Palace in New Orleans. Cannot wait to return. .

“Blown Away”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

You would think by now I would expect an amazing meal, but everytime we go (this was our fifth visit to Highlands, and fourth to Wolfgang's) I go in thinking it may not be as good as we remember, but instead it is even better. I had the lamb, and have never had better. Lynne had the short ribs and was thrilled. Analise's wine suggestion was perfect and service was spot on: Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Wolfgang's is the place for a dinner you will talk about for days and the bar area is a great place to meet locals after dinner.

“Great Restaurant in Highlands”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

I can't begin to tell you how much fun it is visiting Wolfgang's Restaurant! From the moment you walk into the bistro area, it's like "Cheers" and everyone knows your name or is willing to get to know you. We have always encountered friendly staff and owners and they have all been very attentive to all our wants and needs. The food is unbelievable! We have traveled the world over and decided to make Wolfgang's our "go to" when we want an interesting and mouthwatering meal. Being diabetic, we are able to order delicious foods without sacrificing all the beautiful flavors. Chef Wolfgang and Chef Christopher are conscious of your needs and try to make them happen when requested. The wine list is extensive and fabulous and I have never had better lamb in all the travels. There are specials every night which usually include a fish. Bananas foster....oh my! You really must try!

“Overpriced and Outdated”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Based on favorably reviews and the menu, Carol and I expected more from this seemingly "old" established restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food was very good but overpriced for the venue. I had the veal medallions which were tasty while Carol had the viener schnitzel. The starter soup was excellent(Thai curry carrot soup) but quite spicy. Marie was an adequate server who disappeared for long stretches of time.

The atmosphere and feel of the place felt too comfortable with itself, resting on its previous laurels and reputation. Some updating of its facilities and its staff would go a long way to a better dining experience.
