“Old Edwards Inn has much to offer for non-guests!”
Reviewed August 7, 2014

I own a home very near Old Edwards, and its a good thing!! Here's why:

Nothing beats lunch in the wine garden--transport to Europe. Many of the servers are lovely young hospitality students. Having visited the OEI farm, I can attest the organic salad is utterly fresh! Next door, Acorns, is a fabulous place to buy hostess gifts that are packaged beautifully for all budgets! Same goes for the beautiful ladies things upstairs.

Make sure to visit Hummingbird Lounge, with Cy Timmons in the evenings. In summer, the rooftop terrace is also great for drinks and snacks.

Arts at the Lodge is great for coffee, drinks and more light bites. (overseen by Bill).

And finally.........A trip down the chocolate hall to the spa is passage to nirvana. Make time for a ginger pear tea before a cozy fire. I live in Atlanta, but choose to get my hair done in the Salon. Michael is the best--not just at hair but makeup also! The salon has a beautiful adjacent courtyard to relax on lounge chairs.

check out Old Edwards, wherever you visit Highlands!

Stayed at the Old Edwards Inn & Spa at the Lodge Cottages in late May and loved the location. The Lodge area is just up the hill from the main inn, a few stairs near the pool and across a nice green lawn with crochet equipment. The Lodge check in area had long covered porch with rocking chairs. Being up on the hill, the view was really pretty and more expansive of the surrounding mountains than being down at Main Street level in the main inn. The cottage I had was perfectly appointed and comfortable. Plantings around the cottages are beautiful and parking is right outside each cottage. Had a massage (blissful) at the spa, and a facial another day. Much preferred the massage over the facial.

Room Tip: Choose room in The Lodge section and take advantage of lodge office porch with rocking chairs for gl...

Everyone who works at the inn goes above and beyond to provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The room was well equipped and the bathroom was a treat! Visited the spa and it was superior! The gym facilities were also terrific. Enjoyed a yoga class. The lounge chairs by the pools were the perfect place tp read and nap!

This is by far the nicest place to stay in highlands and one of our favorite . We come to highlands to enjoy the waterfalls , hike, and have nice dinners after a full day of outdoor activities. The hotel is beautiful with all of the natural outdoor beauty you can imagine surrounding and on the property and pool. The heated pool is salt water and feels amazing. The staff are very attentive. You will know you are in a wonderful hotel when upon arrival you are offered champagne , bottled water, and chocolate ice cream bars for the children. The bathroom has marble floors that are heated and even in the summer this feels cozy when you wake up in the morning. The rooms are all a little different but all very nice. Upon turndown service , fresh cookies were delivered nightly and slippers are laid out. My husband was expecting a fax from work and the staff brought it right up to the room. You will feel you have privacy and relaxation here. This is a very special place and one that you will vacation in and come back relaxed and refreshed.

Room Tip: We love the rooms that are close to the pools.we have only stayed in the lodge and fall cottages and...

Outstanding service and well appointed rooms. Enjoyed Madison's for great dining and the server Maxine was super. We have already booked a return trip. The spa was great, they have thought of everything.

Old Edwards Inn (OEI) knows how to make relaxation even more enjoyable! The property is expansive offering multiple options from simple rooms to large home type accommodations. Beautiful public areas, awesome spa, fully equipped gym, pools, very good restaurant and lovely outdoor bar makes this the top luxury choice for a mountain getaway. Service is also spot on. Location is central to the Highlands village so put your car away and enjoy a walking weekend! Highly recommend all aspects of the hotel. Pricey...but worth it!

We go once a year to this spa at the end of a month in Highlands and each year it is an all day treat! One of the best Spa's in the country truly, it is peaceful and quiet. Now if only the occasional selfish guest would just please... please leave your "smart phone" in your locker or even at home.
You are not nearly as important as this spa is a peaceful opportunity for others!!
Don't be "that guest"!!

We're glad to hear that you continue to visit the spa every year and that it continues to enhance your visit to Highlands. We also appreciate your advice to guests to leave the phones alone when coming to relax. We try to enforce that to the degree possible, and we will have a look at what more we might be able to do to maintain the blissful silence in the spa. We look forward to next year's visit!
