Idyllic! I spent a long weekend at the Old Edwards Inn and Spa on a mother-daughter trip and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property! The service from the staff was impeccable – greeted with warm, friendly smiles and handed a glass of chilled champagne upon check-in. Classy! The layout of the grounds where we stayed offers guests their own cottage, private entrance, with a cozy porch to enjoy and relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of your favorite beverage. The room itself was clean and orderly with a comfortable bed and fresh linens; although in the summer, only as a suggestion, you might consider requesting the feather bed on top of the mattress be left off because it became too hot for sleeping. The bathroom was elegant with a marble finish and roomy enough for two people to get ready in without overcrowding one another. The shower/tub was marvelous with luxurious bath products. And, the floors were heated; which would be terrific in the winter! The property is situated in the heart of charming downtown Highlands; just a leisurely walk to delightful restaurants, stylish boutiques, and awesome outfitters. We ran out of time but next occasion, we plan to schedule an appointment at their top-rated spa. You won’t be disappointed!

Our group of golfing couples had a wonderful experience at the Old Edwards. In cluding the wonderful mountain golf course. And, the dinner at Madison's was excellent. Everywhere we turned we were welcomed and assisted with a smile and cheerful greeting. From the check in to the check out. The rooms were lovely, tho not too big. With a small screened in porch. The grounds were beautiful with plenty of areas to gather and have a drink, or just visit. Next time we will make time to experience the spa as well as the golf course. Also, a don't miss that we found was the Wild Thyme Gourmet Restaurant on Main Street. Wonderful fresh foods. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Lodge Cottages. Could be just a bit larger, but lovely. Comfortable and quiet.

This is a beautiful Hotel with a friendly staff and beautifully appointed rooms. The spa is a must. I had a massage, it was one of the best I have ever had (Thanks to Alexander), my pedicure was excellent (Thanks Kendal) and when you get your toes done looking outside onto a beautiful area with Chaise lounges and flowers how could it be anything less. Lunch at the spa cafe was excellent.
We were lucky enough to be there in season when the rooftop area is open and I had a mimosa on a beautiful afternoon here.
We stayed in a spa suite large and well appointed with Molten Brown toiletries and a sublime large bath tub for soaking.
Everything at this Hotel is first class, and worth it.
Highlands is a beautiful town with a lovely main street and if you want to hike, golf, fish or just stroll it is all moments away.
Love this Hotel it is luxury in a traditional way that in a modern age you hardly see anymore. It is now on my list of "must return to" and stay longer.

What a wonderful spa! Part of the spa experience is the spa itself and the physicial plant. The other part is the staff and how you are treated. The staff here pamper you and attend to your every request. They do everything with a big smile and it appears that it really is their pleasure to do "whatever" for you.

The relaxation room is lovely with comfy lounge chairs and then the meditation room upstairs is also lovely with a view of the mountains. It is so beautiful and so clean. the prices are very affordable compared to Miami spas.

Everytime I come to highlands the spa will be on my list of things to do.

Several months ago we had stayed at the Inn and we were uncomfortable by the construction noise right outside our room. The Inn immediately responded and gave us 2 free nights for anytime during the year.

They kept their promise and we stayed for three nights in their wonderful Spa Rooms. Excellent check in service, the attendant helped with our baggage and the room was one of the largest and best we have ever stay in in the U.S. Clean and impeccable and service continued all weekend to be the best. They more than made up for any earlier problems months ago.

Room Tip: The spa rooms are great choices.

This is a great place to unwind with the family. The staff is always there to help. Highlands is a small town with a good many little shops and interesting places around. The Inn has beautiful grounds and the kids loved their salt water pool -- which is great for your skin. Dove bars are free for the asking at the front desk. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. It is walking distance into town and the Inn (including its cottages and lodge) are interwoven with the town. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance also. The heated floors in the bathroom was delightful.

Room Tip: Newer rooms are in their Fall Cottages but others rooms, a little older, are nice also.

This may be one of my favorite hotels. We normally stay in Asheville and decided to try Highlands. Boy was I glad we did. The room was excellent. We stayed in the Hickory Suite and had a lot of space. Plus it was close to the pool. My daughter (11) was welcomed in the room with her own personalized welcome note and purple glitter nail polish. Between that and the free Dove Ice Cream Bars she was in heaven. Service was great all around. We ate breakfast at Madison's and it was delicious. We will be back to try out the spa and golf course.
