“Outstanding!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Our stay started Sunday afternoon and from the minute we walked in the outstanding service and attention to detail was very clear.

We chose a room in the Main Lodge that was smaller than usual but had an enormous balcony - made our "living" space much larger and was as we hope - the place to drink wine, eat cheese, read, listen o music, etc. all while people watching on Main Street.

The food in Madison's was excellent. Top Chef quality and our two waiters were hysterical.

The Wine Garden outside was wonderful. Great selections, delicious drinks, perfect appetizers and very comfortable .

A prefect place for a romantic getaway...

We will certainly be back!

Room Tip: The smaller room in the Main Lodge has an awesome balcony - huge! Great place to drink wine and peo...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Old Edwards inn and spa in Highlands, NC and were wonderfully impressed. Melissa and Richard Delany were gracious hosts and treated us like royalty. The staff at Old Edwards were friendly and knowledgeable. Everywhere we turned there were people to help us and meet our every need. The cuisine at the restaurant was delicious and promptly served. The spa was relaxing and beautiful beyond words. The town of Highlands is packed with interesting shops and restaurants. While we were staying in Highlands I felt like we were in a living postcard. We hiked, ate out, enjoyed fine wine and friends in the perfect atmosphere. This was the best vacation we have ever been on and can't wait to do it again.

Room Tip: There are no poor rooms here. You can't miss when you visit Old Edwards.

We stayed here from 9/24 to 9/26 at cottage #28. Normally when you think "cottage" you don't think the room will be large or that it would be fantastically well appointed. Our cottage had a huge MBR and another huge room with a second large flat panel TV. The bathroom was large, with heated tile floors and heated towel rack. The 5 jet shower was fun to use and invigorating. For bath fans, a separate room contained the commode and a tiled jetted tub. The screened in porch was a joy in the morning and let me read the NY Times, Journal or USA today all provided by the Inn. The Inn has thought of everything, from the welcome edible welcome gift and beverage, to the Dove bars in the Butler pantry, and a parting gift, they work hard to make everything perfect. The heated pool is a wonderful place to enjoy and the lounge chairs are the most comfortable ever. The Cottages at the Inn, are not inexpensive but, if you want to be pampered, go for it!! We will be return as we liked the town and things to do as well. BREAKFAST TIP-If you'd like to step back in time to the 1950s, eat at the Cafe 480 on the main street (look for the Pharmacy sign) Great food and very very reasonable.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front on the main street may not please everyone due to the noise. If you can swing it...

In the center of town, the hotel room was noisy and way overpriced. The golf club is beautiful and also the place to eat. If you go make sure you don't get a room in the main building-old, noisy and the hotel is musty. Get a room in the rear of the property.

Beautiful area, small town shops, hiking, the most relaxing spa. Feels very private and yet many things to do if that is what you want. The atmosphere of the hotel is quiet and classy. The staff is professional and friendly and helpful in every way. The food is fantastic and it is easy to get lost in conversation with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. We loved it.

Room Tip: Just tell the staff what you want and they will match you with your needs.
