“Be ready for a hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

What a hidden treasure this hike is. A bit vigorous, but children can manage quite well provided they are fit. At times the trail gets quite narrow and in the rainy season slippery. The trail is a mile down to the falls that come in three sections. There are three stopping places for viewing and taking a breather. Don't overlook this place in the Nantahala Forest; it's well worth the morning or afternoon walk.

“Great (challenging!) hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

We loved Glen Falls. It will definitely give you a workout, but there are wonderful places to view the falls. If you descend far enough, you'll come to a sandy area where you can take off your shoes and enjoy the water at the base of the falls. Definitely worth a visit, but be prepared to get a workout on the uphill return to your car!

“Wow what a beautiful waterfall!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Glen falls is just beautiful. First off, it's free, which is wonderful. There are multiple stops to look at the water fall from top to bottom. Beware, there are a LOT of stairs and if you're more into off-the-beaten-track trails there are man through out that are even more difficult. This being said, it is so worth it if you're able to get through. It's a lovely sight.

“Great hike, several beautiful falls, strenuous.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

Be sure to take water and food for energy. You'll will need a rest and snack at the bottom of the falls to make the long climb back out. If elderly or with small children, be prepared for the trip back to be strenuous. You can turn around after the first waterfall and still enjoy the experience. I believe there were three waterfalls. Very nice hike to the bottom.

“long hike”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

the hike down wasn't so bad but coming back up was very strenuous...the makeshift stairs are uneven and its a steady climb. I saw people that appeared to be in good shape huffing and puffing...the bad thing is that there are many waterfalls in the area that are even better without the crazy hike. If the falls were super spectacular it would be different. Dry falls isn't but a few miles from there and an easy walk to....
