The service was superb and innkeeper provided fresh towels each day even though there was no maid service. She provided us information about the town and the restaurants but she never pushed in any particular direction. She wrapped up some gifts we purchased and even prepared them for airline travel.
The property was beautiful and the guest house was to the side of the bed and breakfast. Nice trees and although you could hear some vehicle traffic, it was very quiet and serene setting.
The location was within walking distance of the town. The bathroom and kitchen were spotless and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances, silverware, etc. The refrigerator was the standard size. There were fans in each bedroom and we were never uncomfortable. The town is about 4,100 feet in altitude. There was a TV and DVD player and a few board games.
We liked the porch in the front to sit and relax or have breakfast or evening snacks the best. The beds were very comfortable too. I guess what we liked least was the garage apartment tenants but they did adhere to the quiet hours of 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM

This place is wonderful; very private and peaceful. It's just what we needed.

Donna and Chris are gracious and helpful hosts.

We will be back as soon as we can.

“Delightful--can't wait to return!”
Reviewed July 5, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Our 7 days in the Guest House at Colonial Pines were delightful. Chris and Donna are consummate hosts--helpful and caring but not intrusive. Donna's breakfasts and afternoon "goodies" are scrumptious. Her design skills are evident in the lovely furnishings and décor. Chris administers coffee with laid-.
back humor and keeps the buildings and grounds beautifully maintained.

The setting is peaceful and quiet, yet in close proximity to Main Street. We loved watching the hummingbirds and the squirrel who hangs upside down to munch at the bird-feeder.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and attractively furnished. It's cozy, but there's plenty of space for a couple or small family. The linens and towels are in generous supply and way above average. The kitchen is well-supplied with utensils for light cooking.

As "summer refugees" from heat and humidity, we enjoyed the cool, clean mountain air and the sound of rain in the trees. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay and wish we could have stayed all summer. The cost is excellent for the value received. We can't wait to return!
