During our three (wonderful) visits to this upscale meets rustic Fire Mountain Inn, Cabins & Treehouses, my wife and I have stayed in the Inn (Nantahala, Satohla) and the Treehouses (Sassafras). During our three (special) visits, the guest rooms have been spotless. Breakfast is always a (gourmet) treat. And the hospitality is five-star.
It’s a great place to un-plug; re-charge; and marvel at the (so many) stars and the cotton-ball like clouds that fill the valley between the mountains … viewed from the top of Fire Mountain.
[On our most recent visit in May 2011, I photographed our Nantahala room (360-degree)

What would I change or suggest that the Inn do differently? Not a thing!
We look forward to returning to the Fire Mountain Inn. And, to visit the scenic Nantahala National Forest waterfallsand trails; and the restaurants in Highlands; particularly, Cyprus (a restaurant by and for foodies).
[For context, I’ve been lucky enough to travel to 36 countries for business and pleasure: experiencing the best of the best hotels and destinations. The Fire Mountain Inn experience is unique; special and a treat.]More
