We did not get a chance to try their prepared food, only as a grocery. They had the basic necessities, some good looking cuts of meat and a solid wine selection. Since this is pretty much the only grocer in the area you'd hope there would be more selection of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Since the new owners have taken over, it has truly improved 100%. Wonderful deli/lunch spot, good coffee, wonderful wine selection, friendly service.

Both locals and tourist haunt this place specifically during the breakfast and lunch hours. As you enter the door you are taken back by melodic sounds of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and an inspiring blend of vintage Big Band music. The old tiled floor grabs you by the feet and leads you through an interesting maze of gourmet delights, fresh organic produce, and products you are more than likely to find at New York's Dean & Duluca. I admit the prices on sundries are a bit elevated but so is Highlands (4100 + feet). It's probably quite a challenge to import such a perfect variety of product to such a perfectly isolated mountain resort so I'll give them a free pass on pricing! While shopping for your needs focus more so on the waft of sizzling burgers, grilled chicken and the best paper bag of french fries (fresh cut daily) you'll ever have. Ask for a side of their home made honey mustard for dipping! If you are a wine enthusiast you'll find exactly what you're looking for and more! Grab a bottle to enjoy with your Mountain Fresh lunch, they will uncork it for you. Ask nicely and they probably won't charge you the corkage fee. I've never been a fan of such a useless fee! :-) Once you've loaded your cart, belly and soul with the goodness of this quaint little grocery store / deli / grill / coffee / wine shop, exit the door with a hot cup of their roasted coffee and set a date to return. Tell Ms. Grace 'hello' for me as you leave. She's a doll!
