We took an afternoon and drove up to highlands. The road takes you past 3 waterfalls.
There is parking alongside the 3 and walkways for a better view.

We really enjoyed this drive. Great for families.

“Dry Falls newly renovated parking area, safer walkways, railings and stairs!”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

2nd visit- years ago we visited Dry Falls and remember getting wet under the falls--depending on the time of the visit...you can still get wet...The new ample parking area, added bathrooms and newly paved paths, steps, and hand railings all make it accessible and safer for all. Glen Falls (toward Clayton GA) and Cullasaja Gorge (toward Franklin NC) are both nearby and worth the effort too. enjoy nature at its finest!

“Memorable views.”

So glad we stopped at this beautiful waterfall. Gate was closed for access behind the fall due to icy spots. Still worth going. Made lots of pictures here. Will alwsys remember this site!

“Very nice surprise!”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

We were taking the very scenic drive from Franklin to Highlands, which was already awesome enough, when we stopped by Dry Falls. What an amazing treasure! We really don't like touristy spots, but this was worth the stop. Yes, the paved parking lot, bathrooms, and path down to and under the falls perhaps spoils a bit of the awesomeness of nature. Nonetheless, the falls are certainly awe inspiring and an easy site to visit for the whole family. Moreover, there is no entry fee though donations are encouraged. Really a great stop if you're in the area. We visited in late December, so we were able to see tons of icicles and ice-coated rocks, trees, and grasses by the falls.

“#1 stop of water falls in the area”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

We arrived the day after the Tropical Storm and it was really flowing. We were not so dry after walking under it. Easy access and up close action.
