They just reopened dry falls with all new steps and concrete path leading down to the falls. Great views! This is a must see if you are in the Highlands area.

Easy to park next to main US64 near Highlands. Short walk down to view the falls and slightly longer distance to walk up to and behind the falls. Great views all the way down

Dry Falls is just a short distance out of Hihghlands NC. Access has just been improved with new walkways from an expansive parking area. We just happened to be there on a beautiful Saturday, the day after it reopened. The falls are very beautiful and you can see it from many different vantage points. The most unusual is the view from under the falls. There is a stone walkway leading under the rock ledge that the water falls from. It is quite nice to see, hear and feel the falling water. Just a little mist under the falls so you don't need a raincoat.

The Dry Falls was closed all this summer much to the disappointment of many who travelled far to see it. The work is done and the Dry Falls reopen Sept. 21st 2012! Ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. rebuilt trails lead under the monstrous falls.
