Another smooth business overnight stay......helpful staff, nice bar, walk over or caraba's will deliver....decent enough gym and clean rooms. Close to most everything you need. Choose this over the Fairfield next door. Upgraded and renovated.

We arrived after attending a wedding to find this hotel full of screaming, running wild children. You literally could not walk thru the lobby without having to dodge running children. We checked in and my husband went to the gym for a workout, and since I was suffering from a nasty cold, I decided to rest and nap. This became impossible, due to the constant sound of kids running up and down the hallways, yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs.
I called down to the front desk and they assured me they would try to do something about it. When my husband returned from the gym, he told me the kids had already broken one of the treadmills. We decided to go downstairs and meet up with some family members for a drink and to decide about dinner plans. There was a group of parents in the bar area screaming and yelling so we left and went upstairs to pack and leave. The hotel staff was extremely sympathetic and agreed to not charge us for the rooms, and even agreed to give my brother in law back points that he used for his room. For this reason, I would stay here again, but would ask about other groups that just might be there as well! Note: We did write a letter to Marriott to commend the managers for doing all they could to help us, and for being so understanding about our desire to leave even after we had checked in and used the room. They handeled the situation as best as they could. Kudos to them!

Room Tip: ALWAYS ask if there are any large groups (especially those with kids) staying at the hotel! I am n...

We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard for one night. Other than a noisy in the room a.c/heat unit, everything was very good. The entrance and lobby was nice. The room was clean and there was no noise from nearby route 44. A Carrabba's restaurant was very close and the breakfast was acceptable. Prices were reasonable and I will stay there again. We spent the day at the Hickory Museum of Art and is a must if you are in Catawba County.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has a quiet A/C Heating unit.

I am a regular at this hotel, and I find the staff generally to be competent, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel could stand to update it's menu once in a while... they've been serving the same things for about 10 years, and if you're a regular, it gets a bit old. I usually avoid it now.

The rooms are in okay shape, but there are a lot of minor maintenance issues that just don't seem to get addressed on a timely basis, usually in the bathrooms. Examples are the leaking faucets, the loose toilet seat, etc. The tubs could use an updating... or at least could they please do something with that shower curtain arrangement. The room HVAC is one of those 80's style heating airconditioning units that sound like you're inside a truck engine when it runs, which is all the time, whether or not it is heating or cooling. I do believe technology has come a lot further.

The front lobby, restaurant and lounge area were updated and they are nice. It's now time to do the rooms. While they're at it, they could really stand to replace the elevator with one that moves much faster. You need to plan your trips to the lobby from the fourth floor!

The people working there are always pleasant, from the reception checkin counter to the cleaners, and the bar/restaurant staff. So they do a great job there.

There is a very heavy clientèle for local businesses, which means on the weekend the place is often deserted (i.e. very quiet!)

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the first two floors as the elevator is excruciatingly slow.

Overall this hotel is pretty good and you get what you expect from this chain. However the service, while sometimes excellent, at others makes you feel like you're interrupting the staff relaxing. This happens more at quiet times, when they also close the bar/bistro to save money. I understand why they would do this, but it's frustrating as a paying guest not to have the amenities that should be available.

The room is great, although the bathrooms need updating. The wifi worked fine and seemed fast. I'd advise not staying in a room near an ice machine if you're a light sleeper as they clunk continually! But otherwise it was pretty quiet.

Location is great, right off the interstate, and lots of restaurants near by.

This is a nice hotel. It's not new but has been revamped. Bathroom is dated but clean and fuctional. Indoor pool is clean and area is relaxing with spa. Courtyard has a park like setting. No they don't have free breakfast but it would not deter me from staying here again. Good location right off I-40. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are quiet, ac/heat unit is quiet, doesn't cut on and off within it's cycles. Bed is comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.
