We are Hendersonville residents and we generally eat Sunday dinner out. O'charleys (there is no apostrophe in their name on the sign) is across town from us but we end up there frequently. Restaurants seem to come and go in this town, but they have been there for several years.
Salads, pasta dishes, steak, shrimp, Sunday brunch or a tasty sandwich, they have it all. The menu is large and it changes frequently. Their "Overloaded potato soup" is delicious but certainly not cholesterol free. As a bypass surgery recipient I enjoy it now and then.
Their entree salads are particularly great, a California salad with bleu cheese crumbles, dried cranberries, candied pecans, lettuce and one of their selection of dressings makes a great meal.
There is a wait sometimes, particularly for Sunday dinner at 12:30 or 1:00.
The down side has to be variable service. On a couple of occasions the wait for the food was VERY long. A few times food has not been cooked as requested, i.e. a steak cooked less than asked for. When it came back it was quite overcooked. Bad day for the chef, perhaps... Service and food preparation has been improving.
The wait staff is quite attentive. Management is sympathetic in case of a bad experience.
Overall the atmosphere is pleasant for family dining. There is a bar area.
