This is a fairly standard, local, "downhome" restaurant that is very popular with local people in Hendersonville and surrounding towns. It is the kind of place often called a "fish camp" by long-time North Carolinians. Service staff were friendly, funny, helpful, and quick to take orders and get food on the table. There is a standard but fairly extensive menu focusing on fried and broiled fish dishes with hushpuppies, coleslaw, and potatoes. The broiled and fried fish dishes are excellent. Chicken tenders are also provided as an alternative to fish. There is a children's menu. Portions are very large. Hushpuppies are moist and delicious (not the regular overdone offerings that many similar places serve). The coleslaw is excellent in an area where people are very particular about their coleslaw. Customers may selected French fries, baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, or French fried sweet potatoes. All of these are very good. There is an extremely limited wine list, and one suspects that most customers go for the traditional Southern house wine which is "sweet tea." Desserts are excellent. If you like this kind of inexpensive broiled and fried fish restaurant (and I do!), you will like Bay Breeze Seafood Restaurant and will enjoy a nice meal.
