Nice to find in the heart of BBQ country a Restaurant that had plenty of vegetarian selection as well as gluten free selection on the menu. Service was good and they also have a very nice Belgian Blond on tap.

Our friend took us here for a rainy day lunch, and we were very pleased. We each ordered local draft beers which were good, and their selection was varied. Our friend enjoyed his individual veggie pizza. My husband ordered a combo of chicken salad sandwich and soup of the day, which were both very good. I ordered a wood-fired pita hummus dish which was really quite generous. Inside the pita halves were local greens, cucumber slices, tomatoes, thin slices of red onion, black olives, and house-made hummus. A "ziki" sauce enhanced the flavors nicely. There was also a small bowl of pesto pasta which was delicious but made the entire plate way too much food. One half of the pita hummus and the bowl of pasta would have been sufficient for one person's lunch.
Do not expect to find standard pizza choices here. West First makes their own breads, pizza dough, etc. They use fresh ingredients, and are creative in pizzas as well as their other dishes. If you like innovative cuisine using fresh, local ingredients, you will like West First.
The restaurant is located on a side street downtown, across from an interesting local museum.

Side street location limits easy parking but food is very good and wood-fired pizza is very tasty! Nice outside balcony eating is very relaxing and peaceful. Would certainy recommend this restaurant!

We love this restaurant. Never had a bad meal. Pizza is to die for! We have had lunch and dinner here and tend to gravitate to Wood First whenever we want to go out at the last minute. Highly recommend.
