We stayed at the Melange Bed and Breakfast for the weekend. The house was amazing. Beautifully decorated, the right mix of luxury and comfort of being at home. The room was very well sized, the bed was comfortable and the Jacuzzi tub was a wonderful touch. The gardens are wonderfully landscaped with blooming hydrangeas and roses to provide color. We relaxed in the greenhouse room and enjoyed a bottle of wine. The owners are extremely hospitable and concerned with ensuring all of your needs are met. The gourmet breakfast each morning was incredibly fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this establishment and will return any time we are in the Hendersonville area.

Had daughter's wedding and reception here this past Saturday. It was fantastic. The house and grounds are beautiful with quiet surroundings; the Ozelsel's are extremely accomodating hosts. The rooms and breakfasts were excellent, and the food (salmon/tenderlion/portobello mushroom) at the reception beat out what people think is the best ( e.g. the tenderlion was exceptionally wonderful and was better than that at the local Ruth Chris restaurant).
All in all a great experience

My wife, son, and I recently stayed at Melange B&B. We truly enjoyed our time there and found the owners to be very kind, hospitable, and attentive to our needs and requests. The mansion is gorgeous as are the beautifully landscaped gardens.

The two course breakfasts were delicious, filling, and wonderfully prepared. The service of them was equally exceptional.

We stayed in the Scarlett room and found it to be very nice. It was large in size, had a lovely outdoor balcony, a nicely updated bathroom, and a stocked fridge.

We highly recommend Melange and only wish our stay had been longer than our two nights. We also wished it was a little closer to Asheville, but the 30 minute drive or so wasn't bad.

The mid-week special at Lale and Mehmet's fine old house was a flat-out gift. Great two-course breakfasts in a dedicated garden room, discussion of Turkish rugs and meze--better than a trip to Istanbul, as a close friend's recent experiences in Istanbul suggest. Here they speak perfect idiomatic English (and German!) and their stories about the place are priceless. Driving around in the area makes this a good base for excursions into the NC Arboretum--ten miles of trails--and for antiquing, a big surprise. Mehmet's coffee is as good as my home-brew, and Lale's afternoon tea is better. Not just a stop, a whole world of experience. Don't miss it. We won't.

The Melange B & B is a beautiful home, rich in character and warmth. The owners are gracious hosts who bend over backwards to make their guests feel welcome. The home is fresh and clean, pleasant smell, has wonderfully comfortable beds and rich gardens. Because we were traveling with young teen boys we did find the frequent use of nudity in the decor uncomfortable. Also, because of the age of the home, the floors do squeak and we were constantly trying to walk quietly so as not to disturb the other guests. We stayed in the Rose Suite and it was spacious and comfortable. My parents stayed in the Emerald Room. Although we greatly enjoyed the balcony, they found it difficult to climb the stairs and difficult to get into and out of the bathtub safely. A step ladder is provided for the large tub but the room does not offer a walk-in shower and there is no elevator in the house.

Melange is a very special place and in my opinion, Mehmet and Lale are what make this place special. Literally within the first minute of our arrival, these two had made us feel like we were guests in their home. They provided us an opportunity to choose rooms based on which of the open rooms we wanted to stay in and then led us to the outside patio where they brought us wine and olives...we hadn't even unloaded our bags yet. They politely inquired about our plans so as to offer recommendations and were very willing to tell us about the town of Hendersonville, SC and their history.
The elements of our room were perfect...the linens were wonderful, the bed beautiful and comfortable and the decor unique and inviting. Our breakfast was delightful. The property is truly a "melange"...a fascinating blend of Turkish items and family heirlooms. Over the course of the few days that we were there, I would often wander room to room looking at pictures and artwork, furniture and coffee table books. I was fascinated by it all. All that said, we were most fascinated by our hosts, who have a wonderful story to tell with the adventure that is Melange. Go explore it for yourselves!

We stayed at the Melange over Memorial Day weekend 2012 for a wedding that was on the property. As soon as we turned in the drive, the first thing that came to mind was the Great Gatsby. I felt as if I needed gloves and a cigarette holder. There is a sense of timeless class that just oozes from the property. Even though it is located right in the middle of Hendersonville, you feel as if you are a 1000 miles away from life. The propery is surrounded by beautiful privacy trees that protect you from all the hustle and bustle. The side of the property is full of blue and purple blooming hydranga bushes on one side and picket fencing on the other.

The owners met us at the door and took us up to our room (scarlett). The entire house was rented out to the bridal party so I got to see most of the rooms. Our room was the smaller but we chose it because is shared a balcony with the Emerald room next door that our friends were staying in. First off, the bed was AMAZING! Super soft, I slept like a baby. We had a small bathroom with only a stand up shower, but the water pressure was great which is really important to me. Each room had thier own private bathroom. The whole house is filled to the brim with antiques, but I didn't see a speck of dust anywhere. Even though the things are old and worn they are spotlessly clean. Also, the weather was really warm but the air was cranking so our room was cool the entire time. There was an alarm clock, a coffee maker, a small fridge with water and coke in it and a flat screen tv with basic cable in each room. I was able to go into every room and each one had its own personality and unique characteristic. The Cinnamon room had a huge 2 person tub in it that was really nice. The Rose Room is the one located at the very top of the house. It is the entire 3rd floor. It had its own sitting area, a king bed and a nice size tub. There was enough room for the entire bridal party to get ready. There are a couple of big mirrors spread out over the room so everyone could see.

The downstairs had a formal dining area and a breakfast/tea room. On the other side was a formal dining area, a sun room and an outdoor stone area that we took some really cool pictures in. The back yard area was smaller but the lawn and garden was all manicured. There is a really pretty fountain with bullfrogs in it. There were 100 guests seated and I think that a few more chairs would have fit had they been needed.

The front yard is where we took the formal pictures. There was a gazebo and a huge fountain. Everything was really green and lush. There are climbing roses that wrapped all over the top of the gazebo and the petals kept falling on us. It was very romantic.

The Property has a reception hall in the back that had a bar and dance floor on one side and tables on the other. The owners recommeded the caterer and the food was spot on. The only drawback is that they (the town) have a VERY STRICT noise ordinance that everything had to be over by 10pm and we could have partied for at least 2 more hours and we didn't really have anywhere to go.

We had a 2 course breakfast the two mornings that we were there and they were both spot on. The first course was some type of fruity sweet bread/crepe kind of thing and the second was some kind of egg thing each day. One was a reciepe used on the Orient Express. There was hot coffee and fruit juice and it was all served on antique china.

Although I have traveled all over the world, this was my first B&B. I had a great time. The service was comparible to a 5* resort and I would reccomend the Melange to anyone. We all were very pleased with the whole experience and I would return here again for sure.
