“Lovely little winery!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We stopped here on our way from Sliding Rock to Chimney Rock Park. The gal who helped us was very knowledgeable and provided nice background on how the winery got its name. The tasting was very reasonably priced.

The wines are great. Small fee for tasting but you keep the glass. Pierre was awesome to talk to. Very friendly and informative. Good visit. Highly recommend that you go for a visit!

“Learning really is fun!”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

The setting is absolutely lovely. We stood in an old farm house, looking out a picture window that overlooked a field of grapevines. Had it of not been raining, it would have been tempting to buy a glass of wine and sit out on the patio at one of the tables and enjoy the scenery a little longer. We did enjoy, not only the wine samples, but also learning about the wines. The tasting room manager was working and he is ever so knowledgable! It was a real treat to learn so much about the different grapes and wines. I am so glad we made our way out to this winery! We did not take advantage of this because we were not aware, but if you would like to have a boxed lunch delivered to the winery from a local restaurant you can preorder your lunch and have it waiting of you at the winery! Someone that was in at the same time we were said they eat there all the time and it is very good.

“Winery is expanding”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

It was fun and the wine is ok. This won't take long. There were six of us. We would have had a better time if our hostess at the tasting was more friendly. It's $7 to taste 6 wines

“Well worth the visit!”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Two years ago I visited my first vineyard in Georgia and I fell in love with vineyards and wine. This summer we were visiting North Carolina and I found Burntshirt Vineyards. The place is beautiful and the staff was great, very friendly. They will sell you a picnic lunch if you book it 24 hours in advance. We were unable to do that, but they allow you to bring your own lunch and have a picnic. We did the wine tasting, you get to taste seven wines for $7 and you get to keep your glass. They also have something called wine lemonade (they gave us the recipe for it) and it is wonderful! They have a tour at 2 pm and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We did our tasting, ate our picnic lunch and took the tour of the vineyard. We even bought a half case of wine. Awesome day, awesome staff, beautiful place!
