This is the place! Apples, rides, animals and more apples! The BEST apple cider doughnuts around! The apples were priced at a good price, much better than at the festival in Hendersonville. A great place to visit as a family! The kids will love the corn maze.

We stopped at Grandad's on our way home from Asheville. We'd been told about it, so knew to keep driving. Their honeycrisp apples are pretty amazing. :) We ended up coming home with nearly 2 bushels between what we wanted and the "orders" that were placed with us.

The staff was really helpful and pleasant, and there was a variety of things to buy other than apples in the main store. We came home with some BEAR jam that has been tasty, some apple butter that we haven't cracked open yet as well as an applesauce loaf (If you only want to buy one thing other than an apple; get this!) and some of the caramel apple cookies and donuts. The donuts are okay, I've had better at other orchards- but the cookies are pretty good. The applesauce loaf stole the show though, we're fighting over who gets to finish that puppy off! The cider slushies were refreshing on a warmer day, too.

Worth the stop if you're in the area!

Delicious baked goods...I had a hot apple cider donut and a cider slushy. The apples are great as well as the Asian pears....we will be returning soon.

On a trip through the area we stopped at Grandad's on a whim. Best move of the trip. I am addicted to peach cider now and they have it both cooled or sitting out. They have incredible cookies, donuts, and apple everything. I gained 3 lbs just driving up to the place. This is a great stop and the folks are just as nice as can be. Worth the stop and the drive.

We were a bit early, end of July, buy still had some apples to choose from. In NC they still have great peaches, not like our extra hot home in S. GA where they have already been picked months ago. So we got the best of both worlds - Fresh Peaches and Apples. They make there own Donuts, Dumplings and Apple Loaves on site which are excellent. Several flavors of cider is available. Help is knowledgeable and friendly. We went back to buy extras to bring home.
