“Must stop”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

On a trip through the area we stopped at Grandad's on a whim. Best move of the trip. I am addicted to peach cider now and they have it both cooled or sitting out. They have incredible cookies, donuts, and apple everything. I gained 3 lbs just driving up to the place. This is a great stop and the folks are just as nice as can be. Worth the stop and the drive.

“Great Apple Donuts and Loaves!”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

We were a bit early, end of July, buy still had some apples to choose from. In NC they still have great peaches, not like our extra hot home in S. GA where they have already been picked months ago. So we got the best of both worlds - Fresh Peaches and Apples. They make there own Donuts, Dumplings and Apple Loaves on site which are excellent. Several flavors of cider is available. Help is knowledgeable and friendly. We went back to buy extras to bring home.

“DON'T GO DURING PEAK LEAF SEASON!”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

My Florida family & I were staying in the Sylva/Dillsboro area for a few days in mid October. We wanted to take our 3-year old grand daughter to a place where we could pick apples, go to a pumpkin patch & a corn maze. After driving 1 hour & 20 minutes on a Sunday, we were astonished to see that this place was nothing like advertised on their web site. Only 2 varieties of U-pick apples & very few trees to pick from, so we skipped that! The web site shows rows & rows of hundreds of pumpkins. They might have had 40-50 total. The corn maze cost $8/person & you had to wait in a long line to pay. There were tons of people there waiting in line to buy apples & apple products. They need to get more help to handle the customers at peak times. The whole place was a zoo! We left & went across the street to buy apples to take home. Dillsboro/Sylva has a wonderful place with better apples, apple products & baked goods. We wasted our time going to granddad's. False advertising on the web site.

“Best Orchard in Hendersonville”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

This is by far the best orchard in Hendersonville. If you want fresh apples without the rotten or bug bitten ones in your bag then this is the place to go. You can either pick your own from the trees or pick them from bins if you don't want to buy prepacked bags. They have all sorts of apple baked foods, the apple pie and hot cider are awesome! Friendly, family owned and operated! It's a great time for the kids as well, on the weekends during the summer you can purchase bbq and listen to some good down home music from local bands.
