“Relaxing and fun!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We stayed with Cranmore Cottages - which gives you a great discount at Elijah Mountain Gem Mine! It was relaxing and a very easy activity. I also enjoyed walking around in their shop they share with an antiques shop. We always find some great gifts there!

“Fun time”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

My kids loved this place. Must see if you are visiting Hendersonville!!! It would be fun to visit without the kids as well. It can be difficult to find activities that a 10 year old boy likes to do...he loved this place. Our almost 3 year oldvp had a great time too! We will definitely go back!!!

“Kids LOVED it!!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

Simple little gem mine off the side of the road but trust me your young kids will love it!! We had 4 kids ages 6-11 and they were thrilled. We bought the $10 bucket, mentioned the online coupon, and came away with a sandwich sized bag filled with "precious gems" per child!! Doesn't take more than 30-45 mts though . Can be done in rain under cover!

“Delighted my kids and exceeded my expectations”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

We stopped by this gem mine after a day spent at the many waterfalls in Pisgah National Forest. We arrived just 30 minutes before they closed and were told "you have plenty of time to mine and we're in no hurry to leave, so take your time." My 9-year-old and 5-year-old had a terrific time and the small buckets yielded petrified wood, quartz and amethyest. I have always considered these attractions total rip-offs, but Elijah Mountain changed my opinion. This was a fun experience and my kids are poring over their gems as I write this. Highly recommend!
