A group of 8 of us went there on Saturday evening. Two of our party had difficulty finding the place as there is a one way street involved. The owner, who was so friendly took my wife's cell phone and went outside to talk to our lost friends. With his directions they arrived in a few minutes. This was our second visit to Daddy D's. My first time I had the excellent pork chops and great side dishes. This time I wanted the ribs, which they were out of. I choose the bar-b-que instead, with a side of mac and cheese and baked beans with cornbread. The two sides were great. I am not sure what taste was unusual with the bar-b-que, it tasted to me like a freezer taste. So the bar-b-que was just so so. The others in our party had fish, chicken and chicken livers and chicken gizzards. Everyone raved about the chicken livers and gizzards. The white meat of the chicken was so moist. I seemed to be the only one that did not rave about the main course. So for two visits one excellent and one so so. The service was good and the owner was very attentive to us. I would go there again and recommend it. The atmosphere is good, but as someone else said, you are going there for the food. The bathrooms were clean. Prices are hard to beat. The two of us (my wife and I) ate for $17.00 plus tip.

Walked into this plain pip rack restaurant, thought we would get some authentic regional food, there was a buffet, that looked like it needed serious refreshing...and a lot of locals eating We decided to order from the specials and the menu...well our mistake...the waitress...she seemed to be the only one taking care of tables, came back twice to tell us that our choices were not available, we rechose...and waited and waited...cook came out told us that dark meet takes a while...so we waited again, and my meal was just wrong...and my husbands dark meat chicken plate turned out to be 3 pathetic drumsticks and skimpy sides...much better fresher chicken on the buffet...at that point we had had enough...never to return

We accidentally found Daddy D's down by the railroad tracks. We walked in to find a bright clean neighborhood place with the most awesome fried chicken and Haddock, plus fried okra, greens, black eye peas (Sorry Will.i.am wasn't there), cornbread and tea we could have hoped to find. Great folks, great food, do yourself a favor, skip the hoity-toity places on the main drag, who goes to Hendersonville for sushi anyway???? Get some great soul food that you will love!
