“Made from scratch”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

The food is very good and has a creative twist. Most everything is made from scratch including the breads and some of the jam and preserves served at breakfast (bonus: breakfast is served all day!). The "Eggman's Basic" has to be one of the best breakfast values in town for the quality. If you opt for toast, be sure to ask for it "well done". If not, it may be on the pale side. For lunch, it's hard to beat the open-faced Reuben. But be warned... it's HUGE!

The atmosphere is pleasant with a funky Beatles' theme along with art by local artists. Always a good place to go!

“Best Breakfast in Town”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

My husband and I eat out for breakfast a lot. This is our favorite place to go. Fabulous food and baked goods. Always a line on the weekends. Best grits ever! Wonderful menu with choices for every taste. Very large portions, so sometimes we share and I just order a muffin, biscuit, or pancake on the side. Lovely staff. It's a Beatles memorabilia place, so fun to check out the many wall photos and posters. Everything I ever ate here was absolutely delicious. There are lots of restaurants to choose from in the area, but make sure this is one you don't miss.

“Always a pleasure to eat here”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

This is our second review as we ate here last year. Awesome food. No matter if you order breakfast or lunch. Lots of locals eat here. True that the staff is a little 'haughty' but you need to be mindful of the food quality and how quickly you are served. It's worth it to me. Sometimes you just need to breathe and be happy there are unique places still available to people and the food they serve is very high quality.

“ALWAYS GREAT FOOD !”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

I have been several times for lunch and the food is ALWAYS GREAT! I have had everything from Rubens to Ruben Omlets. Sometimes there is a wait but it is a small space. The servers are always helpful but obviously very busy. If you go don't be in a hurry and get there before you are stupid hungry. It is always on my list of stops in Hendersonville!

“So rude we left without ordering.”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

I came in to have lunch today and yes, it was the apple festival. The whole town was jumping, so we came in to the restaurant to have lunch around 12:30 pm. There were 5 of us and no line. All the tables were full and hostess told us there would be a wait. We told her that would be fine, since we were not in a rush. She told us it could be a while, so we asked if we could have our food to go, since we thought it might be faster and easier for the staff. The hostess went over to an older waitress who immediately made a very rude face when she heard about a to go order and said that we could not have to go food. Our host is a resident of Hendersonville and a regular at Mean Mr. Mustard's and let them know that we were locals not tourists. The hostess went over to the server again, who then got very nasty and argued with the hostess and finally agreed to do the take out order. That was enough for me. If I'm coming in with 5 adults and will spend upwards of $70 in food and beverage, then you give me grief about ordering food? We walked out. No food is worth any amount of money if you don't make your guests feel welcome. Not only did this establishment lose my lunch business today, they lost all of our future business. Shame on a restaurant who espouses the love mantra of the Beatles and then drives customers away.
