“Good Food at a Reasonable Price”
Review of Teach's Island - CLOSED

Teach's Island
Price range: $8 - $25
Description: Teach's Island (formerly known as Teach's Island Bar & Grill -at Teach's Lair Marina) is now relocated in the historic Channel Bass building, situated alongside historic “Slash Creek”. Gone is Bar & Grill title because Teach's Island is now a full-fledged, family restaurant. Most tables have views of "TheSlash". Large groups can reserve a private dining area that accommodates up to 48 people. Ample parking is available, just be careful of the geese.

“Good Food at a Reasonable Price”

We went for dinner the Sunday before Presidents day. Greeted and seated by a friendly gentleman. Service was quick and the food was great. Had a cocktail two dinners and a dessert for less than $50. The made on premises Key Lime pie was delicious. We'll be back!!

“We may try it again, but not anytime soon.”
Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

I'm not sure if we just caught them on an off night or whether our experience was typical, but I wasn't impressed. Several of the items we were interested in were out of stock, but it's the off season, so i understand. However, the food we ordered was not great. The fries were soggy, the cheese steak was dry. The fried pickles were almost burnt. The staff wasn't unpleasant, just distracted. I will say that the place was very clean and in good order. We may give it another go next year, but this visit wasn't great.

“Open for dinner in the off-season”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

One of the few restaurant choices available during the quiet winter months on Hatteras Island, Teach's Island offers local "daily catch" seafood & a selection of other menu choices. Friendly, pub-type atmosphere. If father-in-law Charley is around (usually), ask him about his offering of Hatteras souvenirs.
Don't miss the new location right on Hwy 12 on the left coming into Hatteras (formerly was located at Teach's Lair Marina).
Check for daily hours.

Good ambience. Nice owners. Great grilled tuna. My husband like the shrimp. Bartender Matt was friendly and helpful.
