What an interesting experience. We were celebrating our 46th anniversary and wanted something different, and that's what we got. As others have mentioned, this is as much a history museum as a B&B. Our room was very nice, breakfast each day was wonderful, and the history tour by Marti was both informative and entertaining. His stories of being a chef in the military were quite fascinating. Since we were in no hurry, we also enjoyed the surrounding area, including a wine tour and restaurants in nearby towns. We spend a day driving through upper SC and lower NC just enjoying the countryside and sights. We especially enjoyed Kings Mountain National Military Park, where the battle that turned around the Revolutionary War took place. The "highlight" of the trip was quite unexpected, however. We were there for Halloween, which has become a real happening in Grover, NC. People came from ALL over to go "Trick or Treating". In a 2 hour period, we must have had 300 kids of all ages, all dressed in terrific costumes, drop by the house while Marti gave out traditional candies and some special treats for the lucky few. We had to leave for dinner, but were sure that several hundred more would be by during our absence. What a treat for us to see all these well behaved people walk through this very small town.

My husband and I had a reservation but at the last minute had to cancel. From past experience I thought we would loss our money because of the short notice but The Inn of the Patriots was so helpful in accommodating our needs and did not charge for the cancellation.

We will be visiting The Inn of the Patriots in the spring and so looking forward to our stay we have decided to extent our visit.

My wife and I spent the weekend (Friday and Saturday) 10/21-10/22/2011. The hosts Marti and Stormy were extrememly accomodating and courteous. They made us feel right at home. The stories and history were fascinating, as well as the home and it's embelishments. The Breakfasts were delicious, too! The bed was very comfortable and the room was very inviting. We will definately be visiting again.

Room Tip: Our room shared a bath. Next time we will request one with a private bath. However, they were all taken, at the time.

We recently visited the Inn of the Patriots B&B. The innkeepers and staff were warm & welcoming. The room we stayed in (Magnificent Polynesian) had a cozy bed, but we were a little surprised by the size of the toilet & shower areas in the room. It was a private bath, but they were very small! Otherwise, we had an enjoyable stay, and had a great time at some of the restaurant & activity recommendations from the innkeepers.

My husband and I spent a weekend at the Inn of the Patriots. We got this as a xmas gift last year. I have never been to a Band B. I really enjoyed this stay. It was interesting and fun. The innkeeper Marti was a character. He gave us great food, hospitality, information, and a great chef. It was worth the 8 hour ride to NC. Also we got to take some time to tour Charlotte,NC.What a great city? There was so much to do and not enough time. Donna in Alabama
