Forget the ambiance, you come here for the food. If you are dieting, BBQ Chicken, slaw, 1 cornstick, and unsweetened tea worked wonders for me (back when I could go every day they were open). The sauce is purely refreshing, giving your taste buds a crisp delight. If you are a student of people, then this is the place!

Literally, a cultural cross road of civilization in eastern North Carolina will take their turn in line, and dine here. True B's fans are die-hard, as the weather does not hold them back.

The mental tracking of orders is phenomenal, as "the girls" have amazing short-term memory and recall. It must be in the sauce.

B's is true brain food!! Love it too much!!

I travel all over eastern NC so I scout out the good bbq joints. B's is one of the top 3. I would rate Ken's Grill in LaGrange as the best but B's and Starlight Inn are right there. (Only drawback here is they cook on charcoal instead of wood.) It is a small block building down from the medical center on 5th st. When the food is gone it is gone and it is almost always packed at lunch. Note they are working on the road there widening it to 4 lane so can be messy with traffic. In Greenville most certainly the best in town.

Everyone has their own taste in Barbecue. For NC barbecue I put B's at or near (only because I haven't tried them all) the top. The pigs and chickens are being cooked daily in a shed behind the restaurant. The price is relatively low and the portions are generous. There are a few seats inside but no AC makes it a bit uncomfortable on a hot day. There are a few picnic tables outside. Most people seem to pick up and take out. Don't get there too late or they may run out.

It was ok, but certainly not up to the hype. The pulled pork was too fatty for my liking. Ribs, fine- bring on the fat... however, pulled pork should have all of the fat melted out of it, not present in chunks. Not great.
