Though we don't live in the Raleigh area, ona lark, we purchased a GroupOn to visit Aviator, assuming we would use it while visiting family in nearby Sanford, NC. So glad we did.b we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and the beer is delicious albeit a bit expensive. Unless you really want to go on the tour of the brewery ... Seen one, seen them all ... You can opt to visit the restaurant and/or tap room that are owned by the brewery in downtown Fuquay. All of the same beers on tap.

I've been to many craft breweries in North Carolina and Colorado and other places. Aviator is definitely a contender. I had tried 3 of their beers on tap; Saison, High Voltage IPA, and Hot Rod Red. The High Voltage was the best of the three but they were all very good. If you are in the Raleigh area and need a good craft beer take the drive to Aviator you will not be disappointed. The brewery is not a restaurant. You have to drive into town to the Aviator Smokehouse Restaurant if you want food with your beer. Beer lovers in the Raleigh area are fortunate to have something like this in your backyard.

Went for dinner, and heard raves about the food and beer. The beer was great; however, the food was not. Hushpuppies for an appetizer more resembled golf balls (yes, they WERE that hard); and, the ribs were about the worst to be had in a long time. Service was marginal at best; Concerns to the waitstaff were literally brushed off. Had my Son and his Wife along; they live in the area and have been to The Aviator before, and raved about the food and service. They were very disappointed as well. Will definitely not go back on my next trip to the area.
