“Excellent Remodel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2008

While traveling through North Carolina I happened upon the Hampton Inn in Franklin, recently remodeled I might add. I typically stay in Hamptons because I can usually depend upon them being extremely clean, hence my title, CLEAN HOTELS. I'm a stickler for dirty accommodations, I simply can't stand them. This hotel has recently been removed and It was obvious. They have installed all new bedding, carpet, a wood millwork desk/computer area, tile in the bathroom etc.. My stay was very comfortable, very beautiful and most important to me, CLEAN. Three cheers for Hampton!

Enjoyed my stay at this Hampton Inn while in Franklin on business. The rooms were very clean and accessed via interior corridors. I thought the rooms looked upgraded with nicer than average Hampton furnishings. Not sure if this was a brand new hotel or just renovated, but it was nice either way. Breakfast was good with both hots and colds. The hotel sits up on a hilltop with mountain views in pretty much all directions. You can walk to a barbeque restaurant from the hotel, or take a short 1-mile drive into downtown where there are several more restaurants along the still-active main street. Wal-mart sits in the strip mall neighboring the Hampton Inn, so you can pick up any needed supplies easily. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. I also thought this region of the state was beautiful--nice place for a vacation and exploring the mountains, which are still largely undeveloped in their natural state.

We chose Hampton because of past experiences with other Hamptons. But this didn't compare. The rooms are small. The bathroom has a strange floor plan with the coffee pot sitting next to the sink and the counter is very small.
Make sure you ask for a mountain view. We had the parking lot view and were awoken by the garbage truck at 330 am. The breakfast did not look appetizing. Mostly wrapped foods that you cook in the micro. Old oranges and apples. Best to go out for breakfast. One thing that really turned me off was the smelly bed pillows. Even after spraying with Lysol, they still smelled like a dirty head of hair. Yuch. The beds weren't very comfortable either. The front desk staff were friendly at check in.
This is in a nice area with a Walmart and the grocery store close by. Even though it states no pets allowed, we did see people walking their dogs out in the back , so we assumed they were sneaking them in when no one was watching. This hotel is also very kid friendly with a nice pool. We will try the Comfort Inn just next door the next time.

Stayed here a couple of times on business in Jul 07. Hotel was clean and rooms were larger than usual. Wi-Fi Internet. Pool is outside, no business or exercise rooms. Breakfast is OK but they have a microwave for eggs/pancakes etc (I prefer the buffet style). Staff were friendly and courteous. Located on Hwy 441/23 outside of town. Walmart is just down the hill. There is an awful BBQ restaurant nearby and I'd suggest eating elsewhere (front desk had good recommendations).

We stay at a Hampton Inn when convenient. We were on our way home from a tour of the Smokey and Blue Ridge Mountains and stopped in Franklin for the night. There was a new Comfort Inn next door. We checked prices, but decided to go on up the hill to Hampton Inn because of their"if you are not happy you don't pay" policy. It was considerably higher, but we stayed anyway.

The lobby was clean and inviting, the desk clerk very accommodating, and the room was clean, well arranged, and nice. The bed was typically Hampton - fluffy pillows, white comforter, well lighted -- good nights sleep assured. The bathroom was very spacious (looks like all doors are handicap accessible).. and spotless .and we had a nice view of the mountains (the hotel is high on a hill and you have to be looking for it to see it.....not easy to reach.

Breakfast did not meet Hampton standards.....not much fruit, the "hot" part they advertise was little bags of prepared omlet, biscuit/sausage, etc. that were frozen. We microwaved as directed, but frankly, they were a bust. I hope we don't find this trend in other Hampton Inns we visit. Just get some coffee and a muffin and have breakfast on the road!!

Food within walking distance was a Barbeque restaurant, and nearby a KFC...it's next to Walmart.

All in all, this Inn is way too high priced for the location and amenities; had it had one of Hampton's outstanding hot breakfasts, it would have justified itself, but if I had it to do over, I probably would have stayed at the cheaper place next door.

We were apprehensive since prior reviews were negative. But we believe in Hampton Inns so we reserved a non-smoking - two queens room. Check-in was very smooth with friendly young lady that assisted with computer wireless hook-up instruction. All desk clerks were very helpful.
New tile floor was being installed in public area. All areas very clean. Room was excellent - clean and up-to-date.
Great BBQ restaurant nearby.
Wonder if new owners have "cleaned house" from prior negative comments.
Highly recommended.

we usually stay at the hampton inn in franklin
this one has definetly gone down hill
the old manager and owners did a really good job
the new manager and new owner dont know anything about
cleanliness or hospitality, we checked in and checked back out and found a brand new comfort inn next door, that was less costly, and had nicer amenities. go comfort inn!!
