Fairfield Inn Fayetteville
Ranked #31 of 53 Hotels in Fayetteville
Reviewed April 1, 2014

I've stayed at other Fairfield hotels before and this one seemed to me to be a bit under par. My room initially on the ground floor, had a terrible smell and I asked to have it switched. I was given another room on the third floor which was smell free. They had no issues changing the room and that was a plus. The breakfast is average and the mighty "managers reception" is very poor. Although I didn't expect this reception, it sounded good until I visited it. The food was terrible, and often the dishes, empty. No buns for hot dogs, messy pots, etc etc. the hotel might do their image well if they removed this managers reception altogether. It's really not necessary. The room was what you might expect from a fast stay place, but again, a bit under par for Fairfield. The fridge in the room was a nice touch. The air conditioner maintained the temperature good, and the bathroom seemed clean.

Room Tip: Request the third floor!

Just completed a two night stay at the Fairfield in Fayetteville. While the place was not bad, it certainly was not good either. The hotel feels like a slightly upgraded Motel 6. The rooms were standard. My heater was either too hot or too cold. My second morning my shower never got hot. The breakfast is standard for the type of hotel it is.

The most frustrating aspect of the hotel is because of the way it is layed out you have to go outside to go downstairs. No going to get a cup of tea with your slippers and bathrobe.

I would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Be sure to pick a room on the 3rd floor.

Motel trying to masquerade as a hotel. Terrible road noise. They must know it is bad because room came stocked with white noise machine. Unfortunately the machine is no match for the loud exhaust of passing cars.
Majority of rooms are outside access like a motel 6. This place clearly was a motel before being converted. Unfortunately the upgrades weren't enough to turn it into a real marriott brand hotel. You can't charge hotel prices for a basic motel. I'm writing this review while staying at the hotel out of sheer frustration because I can't possibly sleep with all the noise. Beware. The one plus side so far is the staff which seems excellent.

The hotel is not up to par with other Marriott owned properties I have stayed in. Outside entrance doors and hotel is run down a bit. I got a travel agent discount to stay there at $44 a night, but i would not pay full price to stay there. Staff was fine. Did not really need them at all. Room was small and outdated. Not disappointed but not impresssed. Good for one night stay if passing through.

Was a little dismayed to see that the bottom two floors of this hotel were exterior entry; fortunately I was on the 3rd floor which had an interior hallway. The hotel appears to have been updated recently, although my carpet still had stains on it. Free wi-fi was a plus. Fitness room was decent enough for maintenance workouts. There was a free breakfast, although the selection wasn't super extensive. Staff was very friendly and hotel is conveniently located to Cross Creek Mall and numerous other restaurants. Bottom line is that the hotel is as nice as it can be given its structure and location. It was nice enough, but still average.

Room Tip: Do not get a room facing the road...they are louder with the traffic.

My wife and I were staying in town visiting our daughter and son in law. It seems like the place has been recently updated. The new carpet and the rooms were nice. We had forgotten some items and a call to their front desk had solved the problem. The location was around restaurants and shopping centers.

This is a wonderful hotel right in front of the Cross Creek Mall in downtown Fayetteville. The staff was congenial, kind, sympathetic, and truly caring about my predicament. I had just arrived in from PA for an interview and the hotel that I was supposed to be at lost my room (COMFORT INN), had major renovations going on (no notice of which was on their site), and staff that made grizzly bears look like puppies. When I got to this hotel the rooms were clean, smelled nice (no urine smell, etc.), had nice amenities, and the breakfast was hot and good. The front desk really took care of us and the manager I wish was present at every hotel in the country, he truly cared about his guests. Please this is a place you HAVE to stay at if you want caring staff, and good service.
