“Wonderful family vacation. Perfect weather and ocean”
Reviewed August 6, 2018 for a stay in July 2018

My large family rented both sides of this home for our vacation and had members come from across the country for a rare family gathering. It's hard to find a home large enough for us all and still be this accessible to the ocean front. The limited stairs were a big bonus for our aging group. The beach was never crowded, which was amazing considering there was a public beach access walk right beside the house. The furnishings and decorations were delightful although most of our time was spent out on the wonderful decks or on the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and met all of our cooking and dining needs. There was even a service that comes by to take the garbage and recycle bins to the curb and back! The key-less entry was a big improvement over prior rentals, cutting out the hassle of the "sign-in" line at a rental office. Would recommend this to any large family as it fit our needs perfectly as well as being a colorful happy beach cottage. Thanks Helen

“GREAT BEACH HOUSE”

We rented both sides for a family reunion. We do this almost every year and this property, by far, has been the best fit for us. LOVE the key-less entry, saved time and hassle of checking in at rental company AND returning the key.
The entry doors face each other with a breeze way walkway to deck in between so was perfect for our family. Other properties often have an awkward (most with stairs down then back up) way of getting from one side to the other, this one was sweet and smooth!
Very easy access to beach and house, very few stairs which was a blessing. The first floor has a queen room across from the bathroom so perfect for the grandparents. They never had to do any stairs to go to the deck either. The steps down to the beach were the easiest we have ever had.
We love the decor! The spreads, drapes and shower curtains all look and feel new.
Beds comfortable. Units very clean and inviting.
We had no problems with any of the appliances or the AC which is often the case at beach rentals.
Upper deck has outstanding views of ocean, sunsets and starry nights. They are accessed only through the King bedrooms so quite private but rather unavailable to folks in the other rooms. Downstairs deck is very roomy with an extra bump out deck on each side. Picnic tables on each side a plus! Lots of space to stash beach equipment and such. Plenty of room for us all to gather and visit. They have a lot of wonderful chairs, some deck and some rockers, all sturdy and comfortable.
There is a public beach access on the east side but there is no parking so only people renting other houses use it so very little foot traffic.
Good parking for our crowd, helped that we were one party but should be fine for everyone.
Our check in was a 3 pm, seems there are a ton of 3 pm check ins on Saturday as the traffic was backed up all they way over the Emerald Isle bridge. Suggest you wait until 5 or try coming in from the east end over the Atlantic beach bridge.

We were fortunate to have a Loggerhead sea turtle come up on the beach and lay her eggs while we were there. It is nest # 8 and she came up around 8 pm. It is 3 houses east of Sea Star, towards Atlantic Beach.
The owners of this property are very responsive. Helen and I had several conversations before and after we booked, answered all questions and was just a nice person who seems to be quite interested in making your stay wonderful! Another reason to rent from owner and avoid those rental agency machines!
