“Not much to look at but the food makes up for anything missing”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Got an invitation from a friend of mine that discovered this restaurant and we went down from Virginia (Suffolk) to try it out as a birthday treat. WOW! The food was excellent and almost more than I could eat. Tried the bay scallops and shrimp and tasted my friends flounder. Out of this world. My daughter got the crab cakes and same results. Even their coleslaw was the greatest. Then there was the price - very reasonable. On the other side a person can buy the raw sea food and other items at the seafood market.

“Awesome Seafood”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

A must for us...Food is fresh cooked--just be patient-wait time can be long, but you will be back the next day if you are still in the area...The Flounder/Trout/Shrimp with coleslaw and hush puppies are the best...

“Great food, great price, great big portions”
Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

Coming from a family were almost every male is a fisherman and growing up on the coast, i have ate more then my fair share of seafood. When i heard about this place i was excited to give it a try. When i showed up to meet my friends there i was shocked to see a drive thru and it didnt look like much. But dont let looks decieve you. The food may be served on dixie plates with plastic silverware to match but it is by far the best seafood with the biggest portions for incredibly low prices i have ever had. I love the place it truly tastes like gramas home cookin. Just a tip if your ever in the area dont go to groupers. It may look pretty in a good location but i would stick to the dixie plate any day.

“Good example of southern fried seafood”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Nothing fancy, but a lot of fresh seafood for a good price. How can it not be fresh when it is in the same building as a fresh seafood market? You can get almost anything from the sea here, but it will mostly be fried and have fries with it. Order at the counter and sit with the locals until your number is yelled out, but you will love it if you are in the mood for some good, artery plugging but tasty seafood. Yum.

“Good Seafood, Served Poorly”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

I had heard about this place as serving the best down-home seafood in EC. My take: Seafood well prepared, but ruined by indifferent platter preparation.

I ordered the fried shrimp and oyster platter and was looking forward to some lip-smacking good eatin', done right.

What arrived only 3 minutes later (this should have told me something) was a barely luke-warm platter of shrimp and small oysters with room-temperature pasty fries and food processor minced cole slaw. Adding insult to injury were the little plastic Kraft containers of shrimp and tartar sauce.

I would have sent it back, but hunger drove me on in hopes of finding greater warmth at the bottom of the plastic platter. Nope. How disappointing because the seafood seemed prepared well but, lacking heat, had lost much of its innate good taste.

A better idea: I went to the adjoining market area, bought some shrimp, fried it at home, and served it hot -- excellent!!
