Our group believes Toyama is the best restaurant experience in Elizabeth City. Here they remember your name, your favorite drink, and the food that you ordered last time. Wow! Its decor is bland but its spirit is most welcoming. As well as the regular sushi, sashimi, tempura and noodle dishes they have a wide assortment of interesting rolls, of which my particular favorite is a Spence Roll which is crispy and soft at the same time with a basis of shrimp and seaweed. For the non-raw fish eaters there is a variety of un-ethnic dishes so that they don't feel left out. With its warm service and good food Toyama has become a favorite hang out for Coast Guardsmen and locals alike. Unpretentious but always good.
