I traveled with a group to Edenton, NC, a historic town in northeastern North Carolina. We stayed at the Hampton Inn there, and it was a fine experience. The Town of Edenton had put welcome bags in the rooms--brochures, trail mix, peanuts (a huge agricultural product in the area). Beds were comfortable, hot breakfast was wonderful, people were pleasant and helpful. The town is worth a trip--many 18th-century houses and other buildings (courthouse, residences, etc.) Beautiful waterfront. Good restaurants. (There are B&B's for individuals or small groups--we numbered 33, so the Hampton Inn was perfect.)

Room Tip: One side faces onto ... a soybean field. Very quiet! Small hotel (60 rooms), little noise. Outside of center of town, but that is not far away. It's a small town, but rich in history and architecture.

My husband and I visited the Edenton, NC location. The main purpose of our trip was to check out the area for possible relocation when we retire. We both fell in love with Edenton! Especially the history, homes in the historic district and the waterfront. The room was spacious and we were impressed with the kitchenette area with an actual table and chairs!

Very nice overall except, being in North Carolina, it is not a smoke free property. Be sure to request a room far from the smoking rooms. Edenton itself is a lovely village. If you don't want to spend $200/night on a B&B it's a great place to stay. Breakfast was decent, nothing special.

Everyone at this Hampton Inn was extremely courteous to us. Even though we showed up 4 hours before check-in time after a full hotel, the people tried hard and got us into a room within 30 minutes. Throughout the stay all the staff were very helpful. We will certainly stay here again, the next time we are in the area.

As I stated prior - some of the electrical wall sockets and the lamp sockets were not working. Other than that it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and the staff was exceptional! Just a suggestion: The parking lot was well lit although it would be nice to have cameras out there with the problems they have in the town.
