Wow, what a place. We LOVED it here. Simply stunning. Impeccable, in fact. Our room was perfect in every single way. Beds? The best. Gorgeous linens, too. The bath towels were something else - gigantic and SO soft (even smelled yummy). I took the time to read about some of the pictures on the walls - some pretty noteworthy people there. If only the walls could talk! Really enjoyed the guys working the front doors - fun and happy. Make you feel right at home. The fellow checking us in was way too full of himself. Loved speaking with the housekeeping staff - what a great bunch. Smart, energetic and personable. A breath of fresh air. I wish we had more time to spend here - I did use the hot tub and that was terrific - and having the robe to wear to and from the room was a total bonus. Since I'm an early riser, it was nice to enjoy a cup of tea in one of the property's gorgeous sitting rooms. Lovely, lovely, lovely!

This is the place to stay when visiting the Duke campus. The staff is always friendly and the facilities are excellent. Most importantly the location is ideal for exploring the campus. I would recommend anyone coming to Duke to stay at the WaDuke.

Room Tip: I have stayed in the forest and golf view rooms and they are both very nice.

Spent two nights at this truly excellent hotel. Large room with two double beds. Comfy linen, plenty of storage. Bathroom was spacious, with bathtub but no dedicated shower stall. The room had a safe, tea/coffee capsule machine (with no spoon), but suprisingly no bedroom slippers. Shower pressure a bit weak for my preference. Hotel lobby and corridors are beautifully decorated - plenty of browsing and resting areas. Free open-air parking, lovely grounds. Breakfast was not included in our room rate (no complaints since we got a very good deal thru internet). Located very close to Duke University. No stores or restaurants in the immediate vicinity; the vicinity is a golf course and wooded areas. Front desk and concierge staff were friendly, efficient. If you can get a good price, stay here. No question. If you have to pay regular room rate, then there are better-value alternatives. But, as always, you get what you pay for.

We just returned from a weekend at the Washington Duke Inn. If you are planning on being in the Raleigh Durham area this is a lovely place to stay. The rooms were great, the meals were fantastic (buffet breakfast was excellent) and the staff friendly. There is a wonderful walking trail around the edge of the beautiful golf course and you are just steps away from the Duke University campus.

I stayed here for a two-night business stay

The hotel is located at Duke's campus. So location is great if that is where you want to be. The room was very nice and clean. Bed was not comfortable. Did not sleep well either night. Every staff member I encountered was helpful and courteous. Had dinner in the Bull Durham bar. appetizer and salad. Food was good and priced as expected for this hotel. Had breakfast buffet and it wast $17. Again, as expected.

Hotel was fine for business but would choose elsewhere for a leisure stay.

We recently attended an event at The Washington Duke and found it to be beautiful. Filled with history and southern charm, this hotel does not disappoint. Unlike other hotels nearby, there is ample parking, a definite plus. The grounds are kept up beautifully. The service is top-notch all around - restaurants, check-in, all of it.

I can't think of a nicer place to stay in Durham. It's worth the extra $. And plan to do a Sunday brunch. Also worth it.

I have only great things to say about this property. The location (so close to Duke University) is primo. There is abundant, complimentary self-parking, the welcome at the Front Desk was warm, and the rooms were clean and very well appointed. The Inn is elegant, but not at all stuffy; if it weren't so far away from my home, I would join their Executive Club (membership to property with dining/hotel room discounts, golf club benefits, etc.). The wood-paneled bar with gas fireplace was a happening spot both nights of my stay - the food was very good, and the beverage options were many. I am trying to think of any excuse to return...

Room Tip: Before booking online, call the hotel directly and ask if they are offering any special rates.
