Located about 7-8 miles outside Durham, this historic inn has all the stuff that gives it a high rating and generally deserving of its high regard by Tripadvisor reviewers. We were generally happy with our one night stay, but found our breakfast to be better in its side dishes (jams, fruit, bread) than in the main egg offering, and felt that the innkeepers were more business people than they were passionate innkeepers. Still Arrowhead was a good value, and had the weather been better we could have enjoyed the expansive grounds, which looked quite lovely outside our rain streaked window.

The Arrowhead Inn was a rare gem in all respects. Splendid setting. Lovely old plantation manor house. Cozy elegant rooms. Gourmet breakfast. And most important, hosts who make you feel at home. The library of dvd's is an added plus for insomniacs like myself. My only regret was staying here in Winter when I could not take advantage of the hammock out back under the magnolia tree surrounded by a sprawling garden. Guess I'll just have to go back.

Greetings Gloria and Phil. Pat and I wanted to thank you for such a neat stay at your Inn. The accomodations were first class and your friendly approach to your guests was special. It made for a short, fun stay in Durham. Thank you. But the highlight of the stay was the superb meal at your table. It exceeded all expectations. Chef Phil was incredible. When we return to your lovely inn, it will definitely include reservations for another Chef Phil event. We are looking forward to another visit to the Durham area in the coming year. Have a happy new year and good health. Warm regards, Pat & Chi

We stayed at this Inn as part of a weekend Seminar. Everything from the friendly greeting to the outstanding food and beautiful room exceeded our expectations. This place truly deserves their 4 Diamond rating. The Innkeepers are outstanding and the grounds are an oasis in a very convenient location. Whether you need a weekend getaway or on a business trip and desire an alternative to a hotel we would highly recommend The Arrowhead Inn!

We spent two wonderful days at the Arrowhead Inn in early October to celebrate our sixth anniversary. From the moment we arrived Phil and Gloria made us feel welcome and relaxed. We stayed in the Log Cabin and the Brittain Room, and both were perfect (although the Cabin is more private and larger). Phil's breakfasts both days were original and delicious. They also had many suggestions as to local dining, sightseeing, and history. In fact, Phil suggested the local 5 star dining, Nina's, for our anniversary dinner and even booked the reservation for us. We have stayed at other B&B's, but The Arrowhead Inn is, in our opinion, head and shoulders above the rest. Everything surpassed our expectations and then some. Be sure to have Phil point out his pet deer. They are so tame, you'll swear they're fake.
