“Incredibly mediocre service”
Reviewed August 18, 2008

We went to Twisted Noodle a few months ago due to the numerous positive reviews on this site. We eat out a fair amount (~3-4 times a week) and have enjoyed many of the restaurants in Durham. Our favorite Thai restaurant is Thai Cafe (excellent curries, noodle dishes, and desserts, with prompt service!), but we're always willing to try something different.

I will say that our first (and last) dinner at Twisted Noodle was a terrible experience. The service was mediocre, at best. There were empty tables in the restaurant, yet it appeared that the 3 wait persons were struggling with the volume of customers. We waited over 20 minutes for anyone to take our drink order, and another 45 minutes to get any of our food. The entrees which we did get (finally) were fairly tasty, but lukewarm, indicating that they had been sitting for some time. Our "tea" actually was hot water minus the tea bag. We asked to see the dessert menu, but finally gace up due to the wait. To add insult to injury, the gentleman who appeared to be the manager, did appear to give preferential service to some tables of regulars.

The kitchen may have a talented chef, but the owners must remember that the a truly successful restaurant addresses both the quality of the food and the service. We will never go back to the restaurant and will recommend to our friends that they avoid this place as well. There simply are too many excellent restaurants in the Triangle to pay for a suboptimal dining experience.
