Owner description: Located on Duke University's West Campus, Duke Chapel is as magnificent in structure as it is rich in ministry. Construction of the Chapel was begun in October of 1930 and completed two years later. During that time students continually congregated at the stonemasons' huts to watch the Chapel take shape. It was first used for Commencement in 1932 and was formally dedicated on June 2, 1935.Duke Chapel continues to be a Christian church of uniquely interdenominational character and purpose. Through its tradition of inspiring worship and music, and a calling to walk with people of all faiths and circumstances, Duke Chapel acts a beacon of grace on campus and in the community. All are welcome to take part in worship, learning, dialogue, and service.

Don't miss the Duke Chapel if you are in the area. We were unable to attend any services there due to events being held at the chapel but we did get to go inside and see this amazing facility. Probably second only to Solomon's temple! :) It was beautiful, I'm sure the heavenly sounds of the pipe organ would've taken our breath away.

I took my mom here when she came to visit NC. It is very pretty. HOWEVER: Where is the parking? Can someone please tell me if there is any parking available nearby? We parked at a nearby street and had to hurry while taking a stroll because we had no idea if parking there was permitted. I would definetly go again if I find good parking!

Quite a chapel. Very beautiful and worth a visit. That is, if you can find parking. Parking on the campus is very limited and the area is very busy when class is in session. But well worth the time once you get there. If you walk across the road to the Sarah Duke Gardens, be sure you have a map first and plug your meter to the max. Also a very nice Duke University store next door to the chapel in the Bryan Center

Beautiful. Nothing to dislike. My husband sang in the Duke Chapel choir when he was in college and med school. He loves going back to see the chapel. The organ is incredible.

Buddy's wedding here. Beautiful - like walking into a European cathedral! Bummer about the strict rules - no cameras, got there at 6:01pm and wasn't allowed in due to the impressive punctual schedules they keep!
