“Beautiful gardens!”
Reviewed May 16, 2012

The gardens are absolutely beautiful! We did not allow enough time to see the entire gardens since we were on such a tight schedule when we were there. If visiting the gardens, make sure you allow plenty of time to take your time walking through enjoying the sites! Oh, and don't forget your camera! Absolutely beautiful photo opportunites!

“Beautiful gardens”

They are the Butchard Gardens, but while visiting Duke espeically in the Spring, this is a must. We enjoyed the gardens and brought our picnic lunch.

“Fantastic and Free”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

We went Saturday and had a great time strolling through the gardens which are free to the public. You do have to pay to park but $8 gets you covered for the day. We spent about 3 hours total just soaking in the beauty of the gardens and got a quick bite at the cafe on the grounds. Definitely a must visit for those in Durham. Combine this with the Nasher Museum of Art right down the road for a perfect Sunday getaway.

“Sarah Duke Gardens at Duke University are stunning!”
Reviewed May 12, 2012

I didn't think anything could top Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, but the Duke Gardens did! Stunning beds of flowers, beautiful fountains, grassy areas and woodland paths. There's even an asian garden. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.
